Global Player is doing it again, holding a true multi-player blackjack tournament with $2500 in prizes. It's Saturday Nov 13th (today!)

    Details available here:

Good luck guys. I can't compete in this one myself because of a schedule conflict. I assume the BJT crew will take care of business though. :D

    Additional Info

As of EARLY Saturday morning, there are 18 spots still open. One change is that they have increased the amount of chips you start with to $1,000 and limits are $10 to $500. In the "Grand Scheme" of things, this doesn't mean a lot except it makes it feel more like the land-based tournaments we are used to. Good luck everyone!

    Yo Tahoe:
it was my pleasure to beat your lily white ......
Just kidding. It was fun even though you could not get cards when you needed them.

    Hey BJFAN4,

What name did you play as? I played but didn't remember seeing you. I'm looking for RiverRat. If you know him tell him to reply.

    Thanks,
    tgun

I never knew what hit me!

It's true. If you can't get the cards when you get your big bets out....

I'm playing the Hilton next week. I hope it's a preview of what is to come!

The final table was bad for me, lost the last 5 hands and we know you have to win some of those. Maybe I had better stick to poker. Was anyone from this site at the final table besides me? Played in two of these tourneys and made the finals both times (2nd and 4th) be nice if they were major tourneys. The final table results:
    1. drbass $1,485.00
    2. karino $1,225.00
    3. thogen $720.00
    4. RiverRat $85.00
    5. sandy915 $0

Pokernut/RiverRat glad to see you made the finals

I believe the rest of the BJT team had a tough day! It was still great fun and I hope they continue to have these tourneys on a regular basis. I watched parts of the semi-finals and finals.
Were you as surprised as I was that they had added double for less? I asked after the final on the chat when the change had been made and they told me 10 minutes before the tourney but that it had been in the rules since Monday. I looked back at the rules and I still don't see it. It wouldn't really have affected me but it sure would have been nice to know. I still don't understand how it will work. At the final table one of the players had $977.50 (or so) on the last hand and bet $500. At the time I thought that was a big mistake...imagine my surprise when they were able to double for the remaining 477.50. But I don't see how you could do it for less if you had enough money for the full double. I also asked if you could insure for less and was told no.

I played as Jimmy599, and made it to the semis. Got beat by Thogun on the last hand. I thought they ran a great tourney considering the inherent problems with online play. You had to love the $1420 overlay when they fill it and even MORE overlay when they don't. You also had to love only 5 on a table with 2 advancing AND getting your money back which was in addition to what Global paid last time. I grossed $80 and didn't do much to get it.

I emailed a suggestion that they: 1- Allow increments of $5 in their betting, since $10 was often awkward. 2- Show when a player surrenders when they act instead of after the hand. and 3- Show the bet amounts in text as well as chips, to help clarify a players bet. They wrote back and said they would look at it, but I think Ken had given them the same suggestions last tourney.

    Jimmy
