Having trouble understanding their dealer bj rule.

With A up you can take insurance, but still play hand.
If you take ins. and dealer has it, you win insurance, but if you hit to 21, you still lose main hand and don't push.

Similiarly, with dealer 10 and no check for bj, you're playing hand out to get bj"d

I know tx said you don't lose your double down, if dealer has the bj, but in order to play those variations, I'd like to know what their rule is rather than have to keep guessing.

If the dealer does have blackjack, you'll only lose your initial bet. So, if you have split or doubled (or both), you only lose one bet. And, if you surrendered, you'll still lose the entire bet not just half. (It's late surrender, not early, even though you have to decide it before the dealer has checked.)

    Hopefully that addresses your question.

Now, there might be one confusing exception... At one time, there was a bug in their software that mishandled doubling for less. Let's say you have $800, bet $500 and doubled for the rest. If the dealer has a blackjack, you should end up with a balance of $300 after the hand. I don't know if the software is still broken, but it used to give you a balance of $400 after the hand.

To explain that oddity, I think the software just gave you half your total bet back if the dealer had blackjack. That worked fine until they added the ability to double for less for your remaining chips.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed?

    Global-Player BJ

    Ken thanks.

But, I guess, the confusion continues with the dealer having a 10 showing and then getting the bj.

With the A scenero, you can choose to insure and then hit to 21. knowing you only lose your original bet, cause surrender does you no good.

But with the 10 up and no check for BJ, even losing the original bet, puts one in the dark.

Maybe I should address G-P to see if they can incorporate the check for BJ.Probably too many lines in the program.

Otherwise, knowing that's how it operates, gives the player the knowledge of what to try.

Also question the deal of the cards. Always from the players right. Nomatter the button. Know the bet goes by button. But, would like to see cards come out that way too. Maybe they do. but, as insignificant as some might find it, I find it a hinderence.

By the way, Global Player is planning some special promotions for Independence Day weekend. Their weekend runs from noon EST on Friday July 1 to noon EST on Tuesday July 5th. Existing players can get a 10% deposit bonus up to $100, and they are awarding double comp points for the weekend. They also have some sort of surprise planned for US players. If you don't already have an account, sign up at Global Player before Friday to be eligible.

    Comp points??

I see you mentioned comp points, that brings up a question I have had in the past but never asked anybody. What are the comp points good for? I see them when I log on to GP, but have never read how they benefit me. Can you shed some information.

    Thanks,

The comp points are worth $0.01 each, and you get 50 free each calendar day that you log in to the casino. In addition, you earn them while playing the games. On the first of every month, they are automatically exchanged and put into your account balance.

One thing to be aware of: You must have 2000 points to get them redeemed. If you have fewer than 2000 points at the end of the month, all the 'freebie' points you got by just logging in expire. However, any points you earned by playing will remain on your account and be carried forward to the next month.

Here's what I do... I log in every single day, even if I don't plan to play. It's part of my normal morning routine. Log in, then log right back out. That's worth $15 each month, assuming I also play enough to get the comp point balance over $20. (Tournament play doesn't earn points by the way.)

They also recently added an option in the web cashier where you can manually cash your points whenever you'd like, rather than waiting for month end. If you don't manually cash them, they'll automatically convert on the first of the month.

    Global Player Promotions

Where on their site are these promotions mentioned? Here it is Friday and I haven't seen anything about it on the their site or via email. Is this something you found out from the "horses mouth"? :)

Just so you know, I received an e-mail about it early this morning.

They generally give me a preview of these types of promotions, so I did find out early. By now, all players with an account should have received the same information directly from GP.

    Deposit Bonus

GPC normally has a 48 hour window once a month with a 20% deposit bonus. The dates can be found using their "Upcoming Events" link on the home page of their web site, the July update is not included as of this post. So nobody is mislead; read the rules and conditions for the 20% bonus, it normally has to be your 1st deposit for the current month.
