Is anyone planning on attending the Gold Strike tournament in Tunica, August 4-6? I've never played at this casino, and would value any info., and/or recommendations.
Ho-Chunk instead Instead of the Gold Strike, why not go to the HO-Chunk on 8-5-06? You could win a Harley. I will not be there but Monkeysystem probably will and I'm sure he would share his TUNA!!!:laugh: - but maybe not.
I have played Gold Strike several times and it is always a well run tourney. It is a hybred type with 2 rounds of accumulation with the top (historically) 35 advancing. It draws a good crowd of experienced players. They usually have a welcome cocktail & nice appetizers for the arriving even. Plenty to make a dinner on. Just need alot of luck to get to the elimination portion. I do not remember what it has usually taken to get in. Hope this helps,
Swog and I are planning to be there! Yea, both Swog and I signed up about a week and a half ago for the Gold Strike tournament August 4th - 6th. It is a $500 entry fee event with a $125,000 prize pool. The final round is scheduled to be over by 1:00 PM on Sunday the 6th so we can have time to get out of the casino and catch a flight back home later that evening. I've only played the Gold Strike tournament once and had no luck but I kicked A on the regular tables. I ended up a few thousand less than if I would have won the tournament so they have been begging me to come back down with all kind of freebies (Suites, food, and cash). Know that they have this big tournament it just seems like the right time to go back down...LOL Hope to see others there.
