After the Beau Rivage tournament this passed Sunday/Monday, Swog and I drove up to Choctaw, MS for the Pearl River - Golden Moon weekly event. It was the first time either of us had been there. It is really a very nice casino and offers a hell of a weekly BJ tournament. If Swog and I were closer we would be there every Tuesday night. The entry was only $25 with a re-buy at $25. The only thing I didn't like was only 1 out of 6 advanced from the 1st round, but 2 of 6 from the re-buy round advanced. I believe the entire entry and re-buy totals were about $1,200, but they give away $5,000 in prize money ($3,000 for 1st). This is an excellant EV and well worth a few hours drive time every week. I wish we weren't 7-8 hours away. I can't believe that more players don't show up for there weekly tournaments with the great EV they offer.
I think one reason there weren't more players there last Tuesday is because this was the first weekly tournament held since before the WSOB qualifiers. I had been told most weeks have 60-70 entries. But, even with a full field, the EV will make me a regular player. BTW, it was great to meet you and Swog. I look forward to the next time.
Nice meeting you Riverman I enjoyed talking with you the other day. Hopefully we can meet up at another tournament soon with better results for the both of us.
