Update on Grand Casino Hinckley MN Tournament.
My husband and I participated in this new tournament out of Grand Casino Hinckley MN. Was a Thurdsay Friday event. Started 4PM on Thursday, buy in $100, $50 rebuy - qualifying rounds from 4-9PM. They had good participation for not having one since before COVID. Around 50 people attended with a few who thought they could start on Day 2 that had to be turned away. The new Table Games Manager was hired from within and remembers the good turn out they used to have when they had bi monthly Thursday PM tournaments and the 2x a year 10K top prize tournaments. If you qualified for Day 2, and bombed out in Quarter Final round you could pay an addition 100 and try to get to the semi finals 3 more times. Started with $500 chips, minimum bet 25, max bet 300. 20 hands. Count at 5 left to go and before the final hand. All participants were given $50 in free play chips. Anyone who blackjacked with suited heart BJ won 50 more free play day one and 100 more day two. We both made to semi finals (took me much longer..), did not advance. Was nice to see two local dedicated tournament players make it to first and second. Check out their photos on https://www.facebook.com/grandcasinoMN.

Good News is that in November the Casino will be having another tournament with 10K top prize!
Hoping to grow this event to justify others to come north to attend!

The tournament was well run, everyone thought it was good, many comments that we were glad they brought it back. It was back to the original win your table or be one of the top 2 or 3 depending on round to move on. Which was easier. There was one high chip from all the playing tables that moved on in addition to the top 2 or 3 from each table in the preliminary rounds but they won't be doing that. They had some wild card draws and will be doing that again this time. The purse has gone up the table manager was pleased and if with a little more participation I think it will continue to grow. They used to have 60 some for their biweekly tournaments before they stopped them. And for the large ones they had 2x a year alot more. I think the last on was 50 some if I remember right which was great turn out I think I called or texted and emailed at least 30 of them.
