This event is on the calendar.

Can someone give a link with more information because I didn't find anything on their website.

    Thanks

    Grand June 19-21

I received notice of this tournament by direct mail from Harrah's Tunica, which was the Grand prior to today. The mail only said it was a $100,000 tournament, and there was a $250 buy-in with 1st place paying $25,000 and paying cash prizes through 25th place. It only mentioned there would be 2 rounds, and appeared to be a 2 round accumulation tournament, but I don't know that to be true. I have tried contacting the Grand to get more info, but have only succeeded in finding that there is in fact a tournament, but noone I have talked to knows any details of it. I am going there this weekend and will try to find out more.

    Harrah's 19-21 tournament

Talked to 8 people this weekend. Received 5 I don't knows and 3 two round accumulation. It is now advertized on billboards on Hwy 61 and throughout the casino. You would think someone knows something about this tournament. Though they have changed names, they are still one of the most unorganized casinos in the US:confused:

    Harrah's Tunica 6-19

Finally got an answer I can rely on.(but still not 100%) It is hybrid format. Do not think there are any wildcards with top 49 advancing to semi-finals, and table winner to finals

  6. Thanks for the detective work Duke.

The Sheraton is running a similar event in July with lower entry and prizes ($100 entry). It's on the calendar now. Top 45 players plus 4 wild cards play in semifinals.

I just updated the Calendar with the prize structure and who to call to sign up (although they still can't give any details) for the Harrah's-Tunica event. They have a new twist. Only the first 3 places are being paid in cash. The rest ($50,000) are paid in Promo Chips - I assume "use once" type. If they are "use once" type then the value of the tournament is reduced to slightly less than $75,000 or a reduction of about $25,000.
