I'm sure there will be posts on this event upon complition. If Merrit wins, it's fixed. but anyhow would be interested in operation. tried five times to get thru to tournament desk and got no answer. Hotel operator took forever to answer and put me on continual ring to nowhere. I was in vicinicity and could have dropped in but...........I guess I saved the eventual winner(s). On the road to financial recovery. see you all in Nov, or DEc.
Grand Tunica First John didn't win or even make the final table which is big news in its self...LOL, (John won two years ago $112,000 and finished 2nd last year $25,000 only because the dealer BJ on the last hand, he lost by only $100). They didn't have John and Darlene both entered in the tournament, also Abby Hong had hotel reservations but no entry, (she did get in finally, Darlene didn't). They allowed more players in then orignally designed for so the format was changed during play and they had to figure out what to do after each round. Some of the players weren't allowed re-buys, because they didn't allow for the over flow of players. I heard a few bad reports from Tunica this weekend, but that is at every tournament. I guess the winners are not complaining to much. Most tournaments have some kind of problems, I judge the casinos on how they handle them. If they treat the players fairly and stay true to their format I have no problems with them. I was going to go, but had a couple of jobs come up I couldn't get out of. I was told my buddy Lowell Strait came it 3rd ($10,000) and Ken Smith and his wife both made the semifinals (got their entry back), way to go guys.
