Unless the information on the Harrah's website is inaccurate, the Harrah's Reno / Tahoe $120k bj series of tournaments is about the worst deal I have ever seen in the way of blackjack tournaments. They are having six qualifying tournaments, each with $20k prize funds based on 200 players. The entry fee is $200 (or 40000 reward credits which is equivalent to $400 in comps, so that isn't a good deal either). So, if they get 200 players, they are collecting $40k in entry fees and paying out $20k. Of course, the winner also gets to play in a $200k prize fund (based on 100 entries) tournament later on, so that adds another $2k in ev. So, we seem to be looking at a 55% return on one's entry fee.
reno tourny my guess is that a majority of players will be invites as usual with harrahs tournaments.
