can you delete the thread without the poll please? I tried to stop it but I couldn't I have twice but my boyfriend has been barred many times... Sometimes he is complimented on his card counting skills.. (I don't count but I was with him and playing with him when he got barred before.) (not illegal but pit bosses and the casinos do not like that!) :joker:
Barred? In the early 1980's I or someone else who was counting was never told to not play. The casino simply sent in another dealer that was alot more skillful in dealing to relieve you of your money. .........................BlueLight
I did get some wicked heat on my last trip to Vegas. All I did was find a good table, wait for a seat to open up, and apparently have a common looking face (I noticed one pit critter tell another that I looked familiar, which was unlikely having not been in that casino for a year). I got the full-blown routine: whispering into the phone, glaring at me from different angles, checking the discard pile when I changed my bet. I flat bet the minimum (except once to test the reaction), smiled and laughed and joked w/ everyone, played really beginner strategy. I pretended to be innocent and played just long enough to not appear to have been chased off. Nothing can ruin an evening like an overzealous pit critter.
A dealer that was more skillful? How would that be ? I think they all have to follow the whatever blackjack rules there was/is there. My bf has been kicked out of Las Vegas casinos too. Sadly there is not guarantee of winning..He's lost more than he's won in the past year..... He's sick of losing and getting barred on top of that. He gets the same treatment masteff gets....
That's Heat? Damn, I get that pit critter looking at me wherever I go....I just thought they found me attractive!
I should add that after that adventure, I was a little paranoid about the pit watching my table where ever I went... until a later observation added truth to what I'd read elsewhere... most of the time they're watching change being made and for dealer errors. Had a green dealer who needed correction or help about every 5 hands (not really that bad but seemed like it). I really relaxed when I started to notice when the pit was watching the dealer and not me.
