    What's going on Blackjack world?

I know it's been forever and a day since I've last posted, but wanted to let you guys know I'll be playing in a $64000 BJ tourney here in Baton Rouge this weekend. I notice this event wasn't on the calendar and yes I should add it was invitiational...

20 hands, min $200 max $2000 and since I registered tonight I get an extra $500 in tourney chips so I start with $2500 (same with my opponent). Since it's head to head, would it still be best for me to bet opposite from the very start? I was thinking to bet very large ($2K) in the beginning if she bets small... would this be the best thing for me to do or just $1000 or $1200 (nearly half of my bankroll)? I didn't find any specific HEAD TO HEAD tournament strategy online so I thought I'd ask you kind folks!

My round is @ 12:40 PM tomorrow and I hope to advance and advance through!
Thanks in advance for the advise.

I replied in the other thread. Also, see the recent "match play" thread.
March Madness seems to bring out this format every year now.

Well I made it to the Sweet 16 of the main event til I got eliminated....... lost like the first 6 or 7 to begin the shoe! Was down $1500-$1100 so on hand 12/20 decided to bet it all and lost, making short work of me that round :( On hindsight maybe it was too early to go all in? Of course it's easy to say this after I lost the hand of course, but I could have easily lost it later in the round...

Ken, if you were me, when would you make your big move in a head to head tourney, around hand 15 out of 20? Keep in mind they do a count after hand 17 and also before the final hand 20, which is a secret bet btw so I know it's best to hold back 1 more chip than your opp. if leading!

When heads up, if you can make small moves for the lead early, and your opponent is betting conservatively, then I would do so and then try to correlate to keep your lead. If you lose the first or second hand while doing this, the effect will be the same as if you are betting a progression for the lead. If you are unlucky and end up losing a few hands in a row such that you end up in a position where the amount you need to bet for the lead would cripple you if you lose, then you are then essentially in an all-in situation. At that point you should make your move late, in order to reduce your opponent's chance of retaking the lead if you are successful.
