Hi. I'm brand new to play. Can anyone tell me anything about this tournament at the LV Hilton? How many decks, rules, etc?

    Hilton Blackjack Tournament

This tournament will more than likely have the same format as all of the previous Hilton tournaments. Registration between 4 - 7 PM Thursday night. You'll pick your round one playing time.

All sessions of Round 1 will be played on Friday with the remainder of the tournament played on Saturday.

They normally have wildcards Saturday (just like the Million) into Round 2, Semi Final and Final tables.

If you are a 'local' (live in Las Vegas) you can enter this tournament by using $29 comp dollars!!

    Hilton

I think it will be a six deck shoe with double after splits and surrender offered.

    Question for Faye

I just called the Hilton (you stated 29 comp $ for locals entry, I am not a local) and they stated the buy-in for me would be $299 including comped room. 2 part question; do you have a suggestion for a lower entry (such as staying at another hotel/casino which I can get comped with no strings attached) and is the format elimination or accumulation, they also stated they didn't think re-buys were available. Any information is appreciated, Thanks

    LVH BJ Tourney format

All LVH blackjack tourneys are elimination format and 2 advance from each table through the semi-finals to the final table. No re-buys, but wild card draws for all rounds after the first round - usually from 20 for Round 2 to 1 for the finals table. I plan on being there. Don't know if you can be/"create" a "synthetic" local though. You should just call them and ask the fee if you don't need a room.

    Thanks

    Chips,

Thanks for the information about the format, my thoughts exactly about asking for a possible entry fee without a room included. Although the Hilton's published room rates for those nights exceed the amount I was quoted to enter the tournament including room, if I can get a reduced entry and stay free elsewhere I can have prime rib not beef stew for dinner, LOL.
