Horseshoe Tunica 250K event

Discussion in 'Blackjack Events (USA)' started by Blackjack Rebel Too, Mar 6, 2007.

  1. I was just looking at the online version of the Tunica version of Jackpot magazine. It had an ad and a story about a 250K blackjack tournament that the Horseshoe is putting on. It has a $1,000 entry fee and is scheduled for April 21. The article doesn't specify any format but does say that there will be 45 people advance to the semis and that 4 wild cards will join them there for a total of 49 players. They will get $500 for making the semis
    The payouts are
    1st 100k
    2nd 50K
    3rd 25K
    4th 20K
    5th 15K
I think it paid all 7 spots on the final table but I didn't write them down.

The article said to contact the casino host desk for more information. The article implied that it was an open event. The person in the article from the Horseshoe, Melissa Conner - VP of marketing, mentioned that they had not even sent out the mailouts on this tournament yet.
You can see the entire article at jackpotmagazine.com. Once on their site, click on the Tunica version.

Who's all going to this event? I'll be there for one!!!

Hope the tournament is a success with a PLOPPY PARADE of players so the Tunica casinos will be encouraged to have more :D . The seasoned players should go to Barona or The Palms - I don't need the competition. :joker:

Looks like the Horseshoe-Tunica Hotel is filled for that weekend. Unless you are a high roller you probably will have to stay at one of the Grand Hotels. Since rooms are filling up already, get your tournament reservation in as early as possible.

Maybe you are right the "best" will be at Palms looking for notoriety, but this by far looks to be the best tourney offer during those days. Best of luck to you and everyone else.
