This is a common scenario for the Beau Rivage. You may or may not be able to buy in directly. For their smaller $50K events, they have been pretty consistent about allowing anyone to buy in. For the slightly larger events, I've heard some people say they were not allowed to do so. It's probably worth a try. Let us know if you succeed.
Yeah, please let us know! I might be interested although, as with most of the BJT's in the South, they insist on paying off with those damn chips. Being forced to win your $$$ twice just grinds my gears.
Hot Sreak Info: I was given an invitation to this event during the last tournament. They were passed out to all players and one announcement was made before one of the rounds of play. -Welcome reception/drawing for 5, $1K promo checks...6/23, 5-8pm -$250. entry include three night stay (space is limited)...doesn't state reentry price; historically same as initial entry. -Tournament action 5/24-5/25. -800-827-8520 -Offer code: BLACKJACK
bad promo chips? Kewadin $250 entry fee 1st $12,000. Beau Rivage $250 entry fee 1st $25,000 cash and $25,000 promo chips. Which is better? I fail to see your point
Well, that's not exactly fair. With the rebates and other amenities at Kewadin including the fact that the Kewadin entry fee is dropped to $200 each for two players sharing a room, but not including the free room (since both BJT's provide that), the comparison is more like: Kewadin $100 entry fee 1st $12,000. Beau Rivage $250 entry fee 1st $25,000 cash and $25,000 promo chips. Then there's the fact that Kewadin pays $$$ to all winners while I think Beau Rivage pays all promo chips to everyone except the half-payoff for the champion. If I'm wrong on that, mea culpa! Personally, there's another factor: Kewadin - 3.5 or 4.5 hour drive each way depending on location. Beau Rivage - 16 hours each way (ouch) or an airline ticket. Perhaps there's another reason why Mississippi BJT players don't mind the promo chips that make them win their money twice - a reason that I'm not aware of? A tax issue, maybe? I'm all ears.
