I come back home and find the TBJPA has it's own section now...LOL. Thanks for believing in the TBJPA and I Ken; I'll do my best not to let you down.

The TBJPA web site is up and should start having some articles soon (now that we had some TBJPA events). I posted some pictures from Laughlin today and will be posting more soon. I will also be updating the TBT point leaders after our first event. The TBJPA web is is:
    www.tbjpa.com .

Our site will also have links for discounts and other blackjack sites including both of Ken's GREAT sites (Blackjack Tournaments.com and Blackjack Info.com) and Henry Tamburin - BJInsider.com.

I would like to thank both those gentlemen (Ken and Henry) for sponsoring events in Laughlin last weekend. I believe if all the players as well as the sites work together it will only help all of us for furture blackjack events.

Bottom-line is it is the players as well as the casino managers and tournament directors that will end up making the difference if blackjack tournaments will ever get back up to the 300, 400, 500, and even 600 players level we once enjoyed in the 80's.

I'll try everything I can to try and promote the tournaments, but we need more casino managers like Dan Higginbotham (River Palms), Eric Woods (Cherokee), and Max Rubin (Barona) that have the personalities and knowledge to make a great event happen.

I believe if the tournament players support these tournaments and we can show the casinos that the tournaments players will support them we'll start getting more and more casinos willing to host not just the TBJPA events, but other blackjack tournaments as well.

Remember just a few years back, most casinos didn't have poker rooms, however as the casinos saw the growing interest in poker they all started putting poker back into their casinos. Hopefully we can do something similar with the blackjack tournaments.

Last, I would like to invite not only Andy (one of our English members) to Seattle, but also all the European members to come join us at any of our events. Andy give me some time and I'll see if I can get something line up in Seattle around September or October of this year, (Thrasht told me those months are beautiful up there that time of year).

I've been very fortunate to get to meet Simon (Reachy - England) at this year WSOB, Klas (Sirklas - Germany) and Bernd and Tina (Germany) on last years Blackjack cruise. Hopefully in time we'll be able to meet even more of our European members.

    Congrats Rick...

Awesome my friend! Looking forward to sharing in your future success, by participating in as many of your Events as I possibly can! Well done in Laughlin, and keep up the "Great Work".

Special thanks also to Ken for seeing the worth of TBJPA having it's own section. "Thank you" Ken.

    request

Can we request you try to come to someplace like Tucson??? What is involved? I looked at your site and didn't know if it is something you can "join" or anyone who decides to play can be part of it!
Also, will you have an "on-line" section? So far I have only played that way. I am looking forward to going to Vegas this July though and maybe some friends I have at the WSOP can get me in to some bjt

    Open to everybody

The TBJPA events are open to everybody, however when there is a Tournament Blackjack Tour (TBT) scheduled there will be a $40 event fee.

This next week the Tulsa Cherokee 8 days of blackjack tournaments will be sanctioned by the TBJPA, however there will be no TBT event therefore no $40 event fee charged to the players.

The TBJPA sanction only means that the TBJPA thinks that the events being hosting offer the best possible rules and format for the players. To get a TBJPA sanction an event must:

    1. Be OPEN to all players.
    2. Offer guaranteed re-buys to all players.
    3. Advance a minimum of 2 players from each table throughout the tournament.
    4. Have not more then a $1,000 starting bankroll with a minimum bet of $5-$10 up to a maximum bet of $200- $400.
    5. Dealer stands all 17's.
    6. Blackjacks pay 3 - 2.
    7. Surrender is offered.
    8. DD allowed after splits.

You mentioned coming to Tucson? I'd love to come down to Phx. for a TBT event, however I need to sign up with a casino there first. If you like the TBJPA concept, tell the casino manager or marketing manager about the TBJPA/TBT or either get me there contact information amd I'll talk to them. Like I said, I'd love to host a TBT event in Phx.

    Open to play the tournaments

The TBJPA doesn't try and get players back into the casinos for regular play, only for tournament play.

I'll tell the managers up front, that to host successful events we need as many players as possible. Even if a player or players are banned from regular table play we try to get the casino to allow those players to play in all the TBT events. After all their entries and re-buys help build the prize pool.

Now once that player or players are allow to play in the TBT event, and if they are told to stay away from the table games (don't even go by them to talk to someone, why take the chance). If you do and you get kicked out, "oh well", it's your own fault and I will not let you ruin it for all the other players we are trying to get these events set up for.

I am trying really hard to get several banned players second chances at tournament play, if I do get you in please don't screw it up.

I have casinos willing to allow the TBJPA in, but wouldn't allow them to be "Open" events for all players, so I declined their offer.
