I'm new to Blackjack Tournaments although I have played the game regularly in casinos for several years. I recently moved to Colorado and unfortunately the few Casinos they have here in Cripple Creek are "limit casinos" where all table games are limited to a max bet of $5/hand making it impossible to win long term. I don't know if they host tournaments at any of these as that is the only way I would even bother to drive to one. I get 4 day weekends at my job every other week and Vegas is about 11 Hours so that is a possibility and I've heard there are casinos in New Mexico which is closer. Just wondering if anyone knows how I can find out where the closest BJ tourneys would be. I've just been playing regular games online thus far but would really like to try out some tournaments as well. Thanks!
Boy are you in the right place! Looking for tournaments? Click on 'Members Area' at the top of this screen. You'll find a free searchable listing of tournaments. The list currently includes over 1300 events in the months of November and December. In my research, I have been unable to find any events mentioned in Colorado. If you learn of any, we'd like to hear about them here. I expect with Colorado's $5 max bet that tournaments present a legal problem though. And, before anyone else wonders if this question was a setup, no! It's apparent that I need to do something to make it more clear that there's a schedule of events here. I'll be thinking about how best to accomplish that.
Thanks Ken. It looks like I'll just have to drive or fly to Nevada on long weekends if I want to find a tournament. Colorado is horrible for casinos with that law. Just destroys any incentive for a smart player to go play. There are some casinos in New Mexico that aren't too far away. If I find any info on blackjack tournaments at those I will post them here.
