How I am I going to get to play on the UBT?

I have a plan. Or rather I have a goal. I want to play on the UBT! Thing is specific information on how to achieve it seems to be thin on the ground. Can anybody enlighten me?

I've reviewed the forum here and been to the UBT site (too much style, too little substance if you ask me :) ) and need to clear a few things up. If I've got any chance of playing at any stage I need to plan well in advance. For starters I need to build up my bank roll (see my post in the "Free for All" forum - http://www.blackjacktournaments.com/bb/showthread.php?t=1940) and the better half certainly won't let me use our usual income streams so I guess I'm going to have to win it!

So here are a few questions:

Are there any more details about online qualification? How much are the satelites likely to cost? How many will be run? How many players will be allowed to compete? Will there be any other criteria to meet before being allowed to play in the qualifiers? What expenses will winning online qualification cover (as some of you know I live in the UK so I'm guessing my additional expenses would be somewhat higher than players from the US)? If you win qualification can you choose which of the tour casinos to play at or will you be "assigned" one?

If you don't qualify via a satelite how much is it going to cost? $2500+$200? Any other costs I should think about? How do you enter? When does entry open? Say I wanted to enter the French UBT in June 07 how would I go about doing it? (never entered a non-online tourney before so I have literally no idea how to enter!!)

I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of the questions I wanted to ask but when I remember them I repost here. Quite a few of these question may seem naive but please keep in mind that I am still a complete novice!

    Cheers

    Reachy,

All very valid and good questions. I for one am wondering did anyone get any e-mail from UBT regarding on-line/satellite tourney's

I entered both my e-mail and I haven't gotten anything. The UBT site is....well it hasn't changed and the little jumpy sillohette just drives me nuts!

We know the schedule - Thanks Ken E. and Ken Smith for posting it here. What about online qualification?

I had a mail about a week ago...

that said online tourneys will be ready in about 6 weeks. Nothing else was mentioned.

Incidentally, I see that over at blackjack21.com txtourplayer has got his own game - a TXT special! 15 hands, 500 BR, 200 max bet. Is there any way that he or other TBJ players of influence could get blackjack21.com to do a multi-elimination style game a la UBT? Just a thought...

    Cheers

    My three cents!

Regarding UBT, your best bet is to wait for an online qualification site which has been promised on numerous occasions. Posssibly UltimateBet.com and Bet21.com later this summer, hopefully.

I would be prepared to pay the money...

I'm not sure I'll have the $2700 but I'll probably have the $540. I have no problem paying that (not sure what the missus thinks though!) because for me it may be a once in a lifetime opportunity! There may be others like me out there (come on Andy, back me up!) as well so we need information!

I'm not banking on winning an online tourney to get entry but it'd be nice to have an idea as to what my chances would be just based on the potential numbers of entrants. Skill and luck aside are we talking 1%, 0.1%, 0.01%? How many seats will be offered online? Of course we have no idea how many people are likely to enter online but if they are going to be played on a poker site there will be hundreds of poker players with no interest in bj playing "all-in" poker style BJ just to win a place so they can get near the poker action. Not saying that's a bad thing but it will reduce the chances. Any idea how much these tourneys will cost and what other qualification criteria, if any, there are?

There was also mention on multiple 1 table satellites. Any idea on the entry fee for these? If they are winner takes all I guess will they also be $500+$40?

Do you yet have any idea which French casino will be used? Aviation in Paris by any chance?

If I win a place at one of the US casinos whose house can I stay at? I want a cup of Earl Grey in the morning, porridge with skimmed milk and toast and marmite. I'm also vegetarian. I'd want an east facing bedroom and a copy of the London Times folded 3 times (preferably ironed). I'm allergic to SUVs. You'd also have to fly the Union Jack alongside the Stars and Stripes and I do sing the national anthem at 6am. I'd need access to the BBC world service. No belching please.

Do any of the tour stops coincide with the Las Vegas Marathon or any Ironman event?

    Cheers
