    Hi,

I read in the tournament calender that some of 'em are invitational. How do I get a invitation usually?

    Thank you for you help!

From playing in the casino. Ask a host or the tournament director how much play is expected to get an invitation for a particular tournament. They are all different.

So that means I have to play a certain amount of time and spend my money to get the invitation?

LOL Yep. Learn your basic strategy (or get a strategy card and use it in the casino, almost all casinos will let you use one) and you won't lose very much. The numbers say you will lose half a cent per dollar bet if you play perfectly.

    Getting Invited to Invitational Tournaments

But what if you don't live in the area of the tournament? Is it possible to play enough on say one or two visits to get an invitation?

Generally, you can get in a tournament that you were not invited to by showing up and giving them the appropriate action. Particularly true in Vegas. Then you'll receive invitations to future events.

you can sometimes buy in to invitationals!

Some "invitational" tournaments will actually allow you to buy in to the tournament. For instance, the Grand, Biloxi has one on Aug 13 & 14. I was not "invited" so I called VIP services and asked about the tourney. I asked if it was possible to buy in. They said I could buy in for $249.00, which includes a room on Saturday and Sunday nights, a welcome luncheon, and dinner on Sunday. Their rooms rent for $199 Saturday nights and $59.00 on Sunday. Not too bad a deal for a chance at some big prizes!
