I will be there! Not sure how the turnout from Minnesota will be? I know some of the veterans who have been going there for year's can't get in. They didn't meet the "play criteria."

Really looking forward to fun weekend with lots of liquor and laughs!

Yes, I am looking forward to seeing all my friends from the sites there.

Will not be in the tourney however, but will be playing the live tables, will be a fun time.

I know that I am going to see how many points I accrue this time around. I was told you have to put a MINIMUM of 200 points on your card for the weekend. Doing that however does not guarantee that you will be able to play in future tournaments. It all depends on whether someone comes along with more side action than you.

 

Speaking strictly for myself, I am not impressed with Ignace joining the "Don't Ask, Won't Tell" parade of casinos who demand side action but refuse to disclose the necessary parameters. For a house located out in the middle of nowhere, they're in no position to act like the only kid in the neighborhood who owns a baseball bat and ball.

On another note, we are very glad to see that the Monkeydude will be there. It's looking like this event will be quite the gathering of BJT friends from the Upper Midwest. We're thinkin' that a big group of us together at that prime rib & crab leg dinner on Saturday night would be a memorable occasion for all!

A word of warning for everyone who is going...... Remember that Michigan is one very broke state. One way they're trying to raise money is through traffic ticket revenue. Be very cautious on the highways while on your way, especially in road construction zones! Don't even think about pushing your luck with the speed limit while passing by those orange barrels. Tickets earned in construction zones get hideously expensive in a big hurry.

 

And how about Creeping Panther making an appearance at Ignace! We all know where we can find him at 2am! :laugh:

Yes, this will be a very good time, really looking forward to it.

FYI and to defend my favorite casino, $4 play on any machine gives you 1 point, no penalty for playing VP , same points as slots, all day Monday pays double. They will pick the highest pointed players first in the tourneys on down. They want action. The 6d game offered there presently has the lowest house edge of any 6d game in the US, .18, it is a killer 6d game, and I congratulate them for offering it. IMHO they also offer one of the finest dd games in the USA. They also offer 9/6 vp on the old style machines, and very good paying Sizzling 7's that I believe have a 98.5% pay out, which moves up with the progression, as well as loose Wild cherry slots in the nickel denom. Craps, 10x odds and $1.00 min

This casino overall is a treasure. The sister casino, Sault, 40 min. up the road is a gold mine!

But true, you are smack dab in the wilderness.

An update

We are still going to be there, but Deb fell on some snow in her driveway last night and cracked her knee. Only a hairline fracture, not debilitating but very painful. So she'll be the one hobbling around the casino. She says that if anyone wants to feel sorry for her, buy her a beer!

 

So are you guys going to stick with the story about falling on her driveway? I am sure after a couple of beers she will tell us how it REALLY happened!

Good and Bad

I don't like the "hit" my chances take with that news but it's always nice to see you and your "posse" at Kewadin.
I missed last one (December?) so I'm looking forward to this one even more. Will be nice to see some of you old acquaintences! (that are younger than me)
