to ask a couple questions. I have learned from many calls to casinos holding events most of them dont know the answers. The dates is about all you can get. Here is what I plan to ask, please answer if you know the answer! Will all walk ups be allowed to play? This is very important because regardless of what anyone tells us this is an invite event with walkups allowed. To me this says high rollers are paramount. Rebuys? This is a 3 day event will there be rebuy rounds and will invites pay cash, Im sure they will Wildcards? yeah right How deep will the pay out go? Will they pay back entry fee to 25% for example? Im not sure if they want to pay too deep in an event that will be maybe 4-1 invite. I will see if they have any answers. Besides duh and I dont know. :joker:
Barney, Also ask if they will be having any sit n goes occurring. It is my understanding that since this is a first time event at Barona (I know about the invite earlier) that is an OPEN event, they aren't sure about a lot of things, including re-buys. Very likely the turn out will be high (I predict over 300). With that many tables it will take a VERY long time to complete round 1. I don't know how big their tourney area is and in my personal opinion, doubt that rebuys will be available. Furthermore due to this being a first time event they likely won't have extra tables/dealers for sit n go events either! I HAD reservations but scheduling conflicts and unanswered questions like these are prompting me to rethink about going. I jumped into the waters in Aruba and wished I had waited until St. Kitts for them to work out the bugs/kinks. As Ken Smith says, there's always a better bet!
Fg If the first event had 400 via UBT invites and Barona high rollers this next event should match it. If not the invites from the first event thought it wasnt worth the hassle! I know Barona has pumped the high roller accounts with this offer I actually talked with 3 players at an event whom had registered that way. So lets say maybe the invite list is 450 conservatively. Maybe they might squeak out 100, not easy to do, pay registrations. This invite format with walk ups accepted should bring a very high player population. I think the biggest failure would be to see fewer than 400. Weather permitting I will be there with my 540 in hand to check it out and at least observe. I know my friend napodot will be playing and I will root him on probably ace Donavan and maybe FGK! Dont be scared FG dont be scared UB needs your support! B you really should go for the ambiance and atmosphere. UBT was very gracious at Aruba. From what I read about Barona and Max I would expect no less in January. I just have too much on my plate. Flying cross country takes its toll on my and I have upcoming trips every 3 weeks! In addition I have to save my lunch money for Aruba in March and The Palms in April!
Info OK here is what I got First event was free to most all players who had a players card and wanted to play. When more players wanted to play they added rounds. This event is stated as an open. The prize pool as of now is $100K. Pay should be about 30 deep The dont know what a S&G is. Players cards get discount starting at 50$ for lowest level card. 150$ for diamond card Right now they are running promo for suited blackjack with drops into tumbler and two drawings a day at 2 and 9 pm. He had no idea if there would be a cap on players but said the 400 at first tournament was probably it. He said again they are running short on players to have registered so far. I asked about walk ups. He said I needed to make a reservation to assure my seat. I said many might drive in. He said make a reservation. Thats about it.
