I recently spoke w/ a very pleasant lady at the IP Casino in Biloxi regarding this tournament. She is a special events coordinator and has provided this material for us. If you have questions regarding rules and format call her at the number below. For booking reservations call the number above.

This casino hosted a fantastic tournament in May. The staff at this event worked very hard to make a great venue and successful 'Cinco-de-Mayo' themed BJack tourn..

The following is her resonse to my inquiry:

    Jim,

    Need some advice

I've never been to Biloxi so I'm not familiar with transportation. I have a map with the casino locations but it has no mileage scale. My questions are:

If I fly into TRENT LOTT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, how far is it to the Imperial Palace?

Is there taxi service available from the airport to the Imperial Palace? And is it reasonably priced?

Is there shuttle service from the airport to the various casinos available?

Any other traveling information would be appreciated.

    Directions, Taxi/Shuttle info.,

-Trent Lott Airport is not a commercial airport. It is apx. 30 miles east of the IP Casino.
-Gulfport Regional Airport (GPT) would be your best choice and is located apx. 25 miles west of the casino.
-I P Casino Resort and Spa 888-win-atIP/transportation desk informs me that there is no complimentary shuttle to and from airport. All van/limo options are arranged directly from the host office.
-GPT Airport has taxi and ground transportation options available: see link.

    Hope this helps......

Thanks for the info Jim P., it does help. I went to the link you posted and found this statement: "Casino Shuttle Vans: Free shuttles operate between all casinos and most hotels except Imperial Palace. Stops at casino locations about every 15 minutes or call for casino pickup." Do you know why the Imperial Palace is shut out from the shuttle service?

    Not Sure Why.......

This casino is located on the 'Back Bay' in Biloxi just off the Interstate 110 spur. My guess is that after Katrina the IP was up and running quickly(less damage than the windward facing casinos) and almost at capacity while the other casinos were opening w/ 'Initial Open' status... (Open, but not at capacity). The Beau was up and running one year to date from the storm and now the Hard Rock, as well as a smaller casino behind the IP called Boomtown are 'completely open'. The Palace, Isle of Capri, Treasure Bay, and the Grand in Biloxi are running strong but I believe are still 'initial open' status. The IP has a very strong presence w/ the locals here and is 100 X's better than the pre Katrina IP. They are packed almost all the time. Could it be possible that they simply do not need to participate in a shuttle service for patrons at this time? Just a theory.......
