Internet Cheating or Complete Paranoia?

All I know is that I am trying to get a bit of practice in on the net for the live London game this Sunday. Because I am on holiday tomorrow I decide that rather than just play the usual BJ sit and go I will stay up later and play in a tourney.

I start to play my tourney but then get distracted by comments made in the chat room.

Player A accuses Player B of using a card recording devise during the game that can read the cards and gives examples of this for the way that player B is acting on his/her hands. Player A is determined that Player B is nothing but a cheat and should be caught and says that he has notified the site during the game so that the person can be brought to justice. Player A also gives out a specific code so that the site can track down Player B.

Was it a load of complete nonsense or a subterfuge to distract players away from the game? I personally don’t think so. Something was going on!

I will not mention the site or the player’s names on here in case I am accused of stirring it up especially after the 60-minute show. But I will send on some stuff to Ken Smith for reference in the future.

I think I can guess where you were playing. Did you get the impression that English wasn't the first language of the person making the accusations?

I've been on the receiving end of such treatment from a small number of people at the site in question. No specific accusations, just a refusal to play me, and an occasional comment such as "I don't play cheaters". (Plus the odd expletive.)

I doubt your experience was anything as elaborate as a ploy to distract people; simple paranoia would be my bet.
