I'm a newbie to this and am noticing several big tournaments are "invitational"....How does one get invited to these "invitationsals?????
Since no one else has chimed in, I will. Invitations are usually extended to the lucky few who are considered, by the host casino, to be worthy of such grandiose treatment because of past play history in that casino. Different places have different levels of required play. And almost all of them have a "don't ask - won't tell" policy about those required play levels. It is one of the two cancers preventing any growth in the game's popularity (UIGEA being the other).
Invitationals. thanks for your reply.....since I'm not a big vegas traveler..guess I won't get invited!
Just an informal question on this topic. Have the members here seen a decrease, increase, or steady flow of invitations to non-machine gaming tournamnets? My table game invites have been severely diminished everywhere but the Biloxii Grand and some Harrah's properties in Las Vegas. OTOH- I am getting more slot & VP tournament invites even though I play almost no slots at all.
Well, I do play slots (usually on free play, and then off the winnings), so am getting the slots tourney info for The Orleans '09 series. And we've been there ONCE with the players card.
