I got a invite to the Kiowa one year blackjack tournament, however when I called to sign up it seems they left an important piece of information off the invitation, you have to have a certain number of hours to get to play. Just a slight error on the part of the casino, I'm sure is was an honest mistake and they weren't sending out invitations trying to get players up there and then inform them they can't play, (we all know the casinos ALWAYS put us first...LOL). For anyone getting their invite for this weekends tournament, I suggest you call and confirm you will be allowed to play before traveling to the casino.
Did they let you sign up even though you didn't have the required 50 hours? They have been doing that for many people.
I was told no... I asked about being allowed to play since I was given an invite, but told no. I'll call back and check with Bill and see if he can get me in. Thanks for the info Kyle.
Waiting till the last minute... Just got of the phone with Bill, he told me to call back tomorrow and talk to Norman around 11:30 a.m. First round doesn't start until 2:00 p.m. and it's a little over two hour drive for me to get there. If he gets me in I'll go, but I'll be cutting it close.
Before you drive up, I should tell you that this is actually a 2 day tournament. Hands 1 thru 14 will be played on Saturday afternoon. Then there will be another round on Sunday afternoon.
I already knew that Thanks for the info, but I already knew it was a two day event, (or hope it will be...lol). If Norman lets me in, I'll see you later today.
Poor marketing No Kiowa tournament for me this weekend. I talked to the management today and was told that ONLY the players with the minimum 50 hours would be allowed to play in this weekends event. Problem is Kiowa marketing sent out alot, a whole lot of invites, FREE invites to players who don't have the minimum 50 hours and will be expecting to play when they get up there today. The Kiowa Casino is very nice and only a year old, so they are still trying to build up their customer base. Not honoring the invitations they sent out is not a good way to build and or keep customers.
