I was reading the tourney lists for April and they aren't any for the time I'm going to be there. Is there a list of tourneys that the casinos host on a regular basis like every Friday or Saturdays. I just seem to miss the darn things by a day or two everytime I'm in town. Any help would be appreciated from the Vegas locals on this one. Thanks.
The calendar here lists events at Cannery, Longhorn, Rampart, Suncoast, Arizona Charlies Boulder, Texas Station. I'm sure at least some of those are out of date. Here's a direct link to the Weekly/Monthly list for Southwest US for the next 3 months: https://www.blackjacktournaments.co...n=Yes&EventStatus=Open+Events+Only&RegionID=2 If locals could update the appropriate events it would be a big help.
I played out there last month I went out for the Hilton tournament, and played in some of the local ones as well. You will need a car, as these are all off the strip and downtown. I would suggest that you map them on Yahoo maps or another internet site. The ones at the Rampart and Cannery were definitely worth going to, Sunday at Longhorn had about 20 entrants, and Saturday at Arizona Charlies (which I won) had about 30 entries. Good Luck !
Tune-up I typically use the local "weeklies" as tune-ups for a bigger event, like the Hilton Suited mentioned by Jonny21 (congrats on the win, Jonny!). Had a very bad experience at Rampart, detailed elsewhere on this site, but definitely recommend the Arizona Charlie BJT's. They pay a progressive bonus to winners who have logged a small amount of time on their tables that day - 2 hours, I think - or have earned 100 slot points, which only took me about a half-hour +/- on quarter video poker. The bonus frequently exceeds the winner's share of the purse. One time my prize money was a pinch under $300 but the bonus was $400.
I've also played AZCharlie's Boulder tourney with the same progressive (slots are easy to earn points on there if you are late). Didn't win, but placed in $. Worth the trip for a warm-up.
