BJT Regulars Leftnut and Zweeky are both through to
round 5 of 6 in tonights Tournament for a final Table seat At Barona
Both have played amazingly
I know lots of us are watching them and is ashame observers can't cheer on
but go lads we are all behind you :1st:

meanwhile on table 1 in round 5 there was still an all in hand 1 merchant playing, thus cookies made the fastest exit ever from round 5,

 

Thanks everyone. As I write this, Zweeky is still in it, but I got the run of bad cards at the worst time, and got booted on #16 in round 5.

A incredible performance from Leftnut was not enough as he came 12th being eliminated in round 5 hand 16, he went in needing a swing but it did not happen, Zweeky fights on...........

After one amazingly crappy run of consecutive hard 12's, Zweeky got boned out on hand 8.

member of the forum on the final table.

 

zweeky and leftnut...I think it's awesome that you guys made it as far as you did out of a field of 1600+. I was really rooting for you guys. Sorry the result wasn't different.

 

Thanks all for your support. After winning 5 rounds, I felt like I already got much much more than a normal share of luck and that I still need a lot more.

My most memorable and stunning hand was round 3 hand 25 described by Archie in the "Anyone experience major losing streak lately?" thread.

Thank you, Zweeky - and everyone else who chimed in. Your play was awesome! Sure, you got a huge break when you doubled that hard 20 and got the Ace, but nobody ever wades through a field that massive without some great breaks along the way.

That does give me 3 top-40 finishes in those, plus there was Deb's victory. We've got no complaints.
In retrospect, I know where I screwed up on the semifinal table. I was so tunnel-visioned on keeping position over BRL that I neglected to allow for circumstances if that guy busted out. Which he did. Foolish mistake on my part, after he was gone I was in a terrible situation. Still had a chance on that last hand, needed a swing over one other player and had it set up as best I could. Hit to 19 after my opponent had stood on 13 against 10. If dealer makes 17 or 18, I'm not only alive but right in the thick of it. Alas, the luck ran out.

Excellent question. Nothing officially announced about UBT or the Club beyond the TOC in a month.
