I am headed to the Seattle for some Turkey time. I am going to pick up a copy of the PNW Gambling newspaper later today at our local casino, but I was wondering if anyone here knew of some mini-tournaments in the Seattle area I might avail myself of?

I'm in the Seattle area and am looking for an online list of available blackjack tournaments. I understand that there used to be a publication called "The Tournament Turkey." Is that still around? I did some internet searching but came up empty handed. Any one in the area know of a good resource for tracking down all the tournament info? Thanks!
As far as I know, "Rebuy" Bob Swanson still publishes the Tournament Turkey. I expect you can ask at any of the local casinos that hold tournaments for more information. The Washington State tournaments listed on the Event Calendar here at BJT were recently edited extensively, and we certainly would welcome any appropriate further updates.
Turkey The turkey is still around. Bob updates it monthly and you can find copies in many of the local casinos. Another source is the ournament list in the back of Western Gambler, again available in most casinos. There is at least one tournament every day in this area.
tourneys bckinetic; pm rebuybob. he will send you a tourney turkey of this area. see him daily, i will also remind him to do so for you.
Seattle Schedules need verification/updating Planning a visit next week so I called the casinos to see what's happening - listings are either out of date or the folks at the casinos are in the dark. Here's what I mean: Friday - PJ Pockets has been discontinued Saturday - Highway 9 has been discontinued Skyway starts at noon, not 6PM Sunday - Chips - 1st Sunday of the month only Wild Goose - Sunday discontinued (don't know about Saturday Spanish 21) Kenmore Lanes - poker only Hawk's Prarie - discontinued Tuesday - Silver Dollar Mount Lake - they say it's on Monday Club Hollywood, week of May 26 is the last time Wednesday - Point - discontinued, but may return in future Silver Dollar - Renton - discontinued Would really appreciate verification/updating by the locals
Thanks kirbyk for your efforts in research. I've updated the calendar for all the changes that you mention. It certainly sounds like blackjack offerings in that part of the country may have peaked and be on the downswing. Any and all updates to the calendar are appreciated.
Looks like Royal in Everett, WA has discontinued their tournaments as well as of this last weekend. I also heard that Iron Horse in Everett has canceled their tourneys as well. I haven't confirmed this yet, so a call before hand would be a good idea.
I updated Royal's listing. If anyone can confirm the Iron Horse info, please either post the information or update the calendar. (To "cancel" a weekly event on the calendar, just set a final event date in the past for the tournament. I've been setting these cancelled Washington events with a final event date in December 2007.)
Iron Horse Everet Iron Horse has not canceled. They have 2100 guarantee on Thur & Fri at 7 pm, Sat & Sun at 2 pm plus high roller 5K on the first Wed at 7 pm. Also an industry tournament on Monday nights. Since Royal was foolish enough to cancel (there were 57 people Sat for the final tournament), Iron Horse is talking about expeanding their schedule. It seems like when we lose something, we end up gaining others, but it has been sort of discouraging lately. Still, there is something available each and every day.
Iron Horse Everett tournament still a go Played Friday night at 7PM and did not hear anything about it being discontinued. Not sure about the Sunday 1PM tournament. Will be checking on the Sunday 6PM Iron Horse Auburn tournament and will do a brief post afterwards.
Another Seattle tournament gone Roman Casino should be removed from listings - only Pai Gow tourney remains
