Thanks Daveyboy. I finished third, in the end. I ought to be pleased, but I was leading going into the final hand, and acting after the three opponents who were in range, so I have mixed feelings about it!

The cards (and my opponents) didn't cooperate. One player doubled for the high and was left on a stiff total, while another had the low and was stood on 20. I had a 13, so if I stood one of them would definitely beat me. I may have had second-place locked if I stood (I don't recall what total the other contender had stood on), but the payouts were something like $7,500 for 1st, $3,000 for 2nd and $2,100 for 3rd, so I had to go for first place.

I wondered about hitting to a pat total to try and beat the doubler without giving up the possibility of 2nd if I bust, but in the end I doubled too. I didn't bust, so now I just needed to beat the dealer in order to win the whole thing. Maybe next time....

I'm not sure how to answer that. I suppose I used as much strategy as I could muster in any given situation, plus the hope-I-get-lucky strategy.

1000 is half the starting bankroll, which I think is quite standard for a max bet. I think the size of the minimum bet, 100, is probably more significant.

Well the money shows up on my blackjack21 balance, if that is what you mean. I haven't attempted to withdraw it. As I've said before, I don't have an account with inetbet, my account is on blackjack21.com. I just took a look, and it was available (and indeed a game was taking place).

Hopefully there was just a brief outage, as far as your access is concerned.

No, I've never played at English Harbour. Do they have tournaments?

I think the forums and PMs are preferable to email, and it might be advisable to remove your address from the above post. Otherwise, if you do not already receive mountains of spam, you are likely to in the future. Spammers 'harvest' email addresses form web sites.
