Low card totals: Aren't they just stiffs-in-waiting?

If you get dealt low cards aren't you just being set up for a stiff? Say you get a total of 6 you've got a 66% chance of being hit with a stiff. If the dealer is showing a 9, 10 or Ace why not just surrender, especially towards the end of the game with a big bet out?

    Cheers

    The Droogs Rise Again

    Purdey affecianado:

What you have stated is a possible, personal strategy.

You will see some, nay, mucho numbers thrown around about the best move at a particular time and with a particular situation, card total for yourself, vs dealer, vs opponents.

Do all the simulations, run all the numbers. read all the "bibles" and false prophets....you'll never be comfortable, until you try out your own feints in live action. And through all of it, be aware of what is said to be the "best" play and the "accepted" move. And, then, who knows, maybe your unique move may lead to the next best seller.

Thank you Mr Noman for your reply. Actually it's not the droogs that bother me. Deftly switching genres I fear the cybermen, now that the daleks have been wiped out (or have they?)

I'm thinking about getting a simulator. Which is the best one to get especially with respect to tourneys? Casino Verite? What about Stanford Wong's? Doesn't Arnold Snyders site have a free simulator of some kind to download? Is it any good?

    Sims:

    Reachy:

Ken Smith's other site: Blackjackinfo. com has sims, articles and practice software and loads of other info.
In my humble opinion, I'd also surf Snyder's site for everything you can see.
Some of his archieved articles give a philosphical bent that just seem to be pertinent. His contributors give very hard number crunching, with an evolutionary look at the game.

Personally, nothing personal about Wong, just was never happy or satisfied with site, or supposed "tips." Go get em and good fortune. and the newer references, just as Purdey, leave me in the dust.
