In the mailer I received from LVH this week, they announce a 100K Blackjack tournament June 21-23. It says to contact casino reservations for "how to qualify" but, so far, there is no further information--they said to call back in April.

Wouldn't it be nice if they decided to let those of us who had qualified for the July tournament last year that was cancelled to play in this one?

    Agree

Yes, that's a gesture that they should make!

    LVH entry

Spoke with my host after sending her an e-mail telling her I was more than disappointed when they cancelled previous tournament after qualifying with the suited blackjack thing. It appears that has no bearing on qualifying for this event. She said my entry would be $399, but if I use the June promotion they sent me for three free nights accommodations, then my entry would be $224. No word yet on format or whether there will be a mulligan card, rebuy, or whatever. Others I have spoke with have been quoted different amounts for entry - I assume it could be based on play given them. Myself, I haven't returned to LVH since they tossed out the 100K events. I suppose I'll give this one a try, but am looking forward to hearing the details.

    Comped entry?

When it was the Hilton, I regularly qualified for this by virtue of HUGE "coin in" (video poker) and I mean every trip.
Either I get the same deal now-----------or I don't play it. Very simple!
I'm now waiting for a host callback.

    bad info

My LVH host just contacted me and said she made an error... quote:
"they just advised me that the $224, actually is $225 entry for the no room needed is for the Bingo Tournament, that’s the one that you can use the June promo and pay $225 for the entry, not the BJ Tournament."
So, back to the $399 entry fee including 3 nights room?

I just called and talked to Kevin and since I haven't set foot in the place in nearly a year...since I was there to qualify for the suited they cancelled...my rate would be $499 for three nights room and entry fee. For my husband to play would be an additional $499 whether he needed a room or not. Have fun. I don't believe I'll be there. :(

    LVH vs Golden Nugget

Trust me, I'm no great fan of the LVH, but all in all, if the prize pool is guaranteed (is it?) then they're in line with the Golden Nugget. GN's 100K tournaments have $500 buy-in / $500 rebuy / $500 super-rebuy and accommodations have to be earned by play - not necessarily included in tournament entry. They generally have a pretty decent turn-out.
Folks are still pissed (I am) about LVH / Hilton dumping the tournaments that some spent a lot of time / money to qualify for. They should, in the case of mociferous, give a spouse a break for no room needed.

check with your host. lots of numbers floating around out there but entry seems to depend on the amount of play you have given them in the past.
