Do you think it is possible to make a living playing online blackjack tournaments? If somebody only wants to earn 100.00 a day?
Or will the losses catch up to you like in real live blackjack?

    Forget it!

In SnG's, unless your 40% in the money playing $100 + on a regular basis (most of the time you'll face the highest level of competition), it's impossible. On Bet21, there's not even enough players and enough games at that level.

Online Prize Pool Tournaments have a high EV (expected value), but still not enough to even think about making a living out of it.

The pros, I believe, make a living from land-based casino tournaments where you can make good money once in a while in majors.

Online tournaments, in my mind, are for recreation and entertainement only. Real money games are important to improve your skills at different levels of competition. In SnGs, if you break even, it's a very good result. In online Prize Pool Guaranteed Tournaments, you can make some money if you are close to 20% in final tables, but even that is not enough (yet anymway) to make a living.

These observations are obvious after reviewing my own record of 712 games on Bet 21 (474 SnG's and 238 multitable tournaments). I'm 32% in SnG's and 22% in tournaments. I'm showing a small positive result (+ $292$) after investing close to $20,000 (rolling my initial deposits of $1,230).

See you at the tables Newbie. Enjoy yourself and my advice would be to consider online BJT only as good pracice for land based tournaments.

    online results

my experience online is very similar to Archie's - though playing lower buyin tables - I invested $25 in September at UB, and another $25 at Golden Palace, and no additional investment since then - and have played maybe 800-900 tourneys and sngs since then - at an average $5 table - that's rolling over about $4,000+ on my original investment - and currently have about a $75 net profit - wow - not quite making a living at it - of course a better player may do better -
