Here's a recent event that helped me get into the Christmas spirit: My recent trip to Las Vegas was awfully close to Christmas. It's tough to be gone from home when there's a six-year old son at home dreaming of Christmas Eve already. Still, my trip turned out to be a worthwhile endeavor. On Saturday night, I called home to tell my wife Jan the good news. I finally had made the cut at the Hilton, and secured a seat for the finals in May. During our conversation, my son asked to get on the phone. He did, and he told me this: "Daddy, it's not what's in the cards that makes you win. It's what's in your heart." I thought that was a pretty surprising comment from a six-year old, and it really made my day. Enjoy the holidays with your families. Merry Christmas, and may 2005 bring you a full heart and lots of friends to share it with!
