    Multiplayer Blackjack Tournament

Online blackjack players rejoice! Microgaming has announced that a brand new Multiplayer Blackjack Tournament game will be launched at the European Internet Gaming Congress and Expo in Barcelona, which takes place from 23-25 September 2008.
The Multiplayer Blackjack Tournament game is designed to appeal to “more experienced and skilled players” and will allow them to participate in new Sit n Go card counting tournaments as well as a host of other tournies that are already very popular. For those who don’t know, Sit n Go tournaments are ones that get underway just as soon as the required number of players have registered to participate, and the main benefit of these is that players don’t have to wait more than a few minutes to start playing.
Boasting a brand new design and “visually stunning and precise” graphics, the latest Multiplayer Blackjack Tournament software is sure to be a hit with players everywhere. And that’s just what Microgaming want.
“We are currently running thousands of tournaments a day on Microgaming's multiplayer tournament software,” explained Roger Raatgever, CEO of Microgaming. “We constantly strive to keep on the cutting edge of online gaming and our Multiplayer software development provides a revolutionary and well-thought out design. Once rolled out across all our operators we intend on developing the biggest and the best Multiplayer Slot and Blackjack online Tournament network to stay ahead of our competitors and continue leading the way in online gaming.”
We will have to wait until after the launch to see exactly how the new Multiplayer Blackjack Tournament software measures up, but Microgaming’s offerings almost always live up to our expectations, so we’re very enthusiastic about taking it for a spin.

    Site Not Available

I just tried to go to http://www.microgaming.com and get a window that says, "Site Not Available." Is it blocked to U.S. Players?

That's not a casino site, that's the software vendor. (though maybe it is indeed being blocked to you in the U.S.)

As I said in the other thread, my understanding is that Microgaming-based sites stopped accepting US players, but some may have allowed exsiting players to remain.

There is a list of Microgaming sites on this page - http://www.beatingbonuses.com/mg.htm (And in fact this is the page where I read that "Several groups still allow existing USA players")

Just found this with a lot of info about it:

    http://www.internationalblackjackleague.com

There are links to 4 microgaming sites there but not the ones mentionned by London Colin, so I wonder if there is more than one pool of players. My guess is they are all linked.

    microgaming

Just found announcement below looks like U.S support only stopped a month ago typical!!

But also has a list of micrgaming sites that will still allow U.S play as long as you already have an account with them and the software downloaded!
    MICROGAMING AND USA CASINO PLAYERS

Top Isle of Man based gambling software provider Microgaming has announced that from November 10, 2008 it will not service American players. This is due to a Kentucky Circuit Court judge threatening to confiscate the globally accessible Internet domain of Microgaming.com. (Talk about a power trip!)

Online casinos powered by Microgaming software, have subsequently announced that they can no longer accept US players due to a lack of clarity around the US anti-gambling legislation (which is a dog's breakfast!)

If you already have a Casino Account

The casinos featured on this page have committed to continue to support existing American-based customers (ie those who already hold a casino account). These players will be able to continue to play, and have access to their existing casino accounts as usual

Players From the USA will not be able to download the casino software

=If you're American and do not already have a casino account you will be identified as a US resident (via geotargetting of your IP address) and will unfortunately not be able to download the Casino software or even view the download page. If you try to "work around" this geotargeting using a tool to block your IP address the casino will not be able to pay out any winnings to you (ie so don't bother

We're sorry things have got so bad for American casino players, especially considering this is all about "tax take" rather than something actually being illegal... so much for freedom of choice.

Once things are clarified in law, it is likely that many of the Microgaming Casinos will re-enter the US market - and it will be business as usual. It just takes time.

Microgaming Casinos that continue to service EXISTING players (no new accounts)
(have removed links but use google to find sites
    >Yukon Gold Casino(Gold rush theme)
    >Blackjack Ballroom Casino (Stylish)
    >Zodiac Casino
    (Free gambling horoscopes)
    >Golden Tiger Casino
    (For big cat lovers)
    >Strike It Lucky Casino (No download flash

    JACKPOT FACTORY GROUP
    >Wild Jack Casino (Great promotions)
    >All Slots Casino(World Series of Slots!)
    >All Jackpots Casino (Progressive heaven

    Microgaming the Verdict....

OK have had time to play a few sng's on the microgaming BJ Tournament software via Ladbrokes (One of Europe's most respected betting sites)
    It’s a real love/Hate verdict

    The Bits I Like-

There are 2 versions of sit N Go's Turbo and normal forget the Turbo's you just about have time to place the bet let alone work out any mathematical structure of what it should be. The Normal Version is fine with enough time to work bets out although elimination hands may require slightly longer.

It's Elimination 5 players at start with Elimination at hands 4,8,12 on the $5,$10,$25 buy in games with 15 hands in total and at hands 5,10, and 15 with 20 hands in total on the $50 buy in game. Being Elimination a skilled player will cash a lot more as does not have to rely on luck of the cards and position on the last couple of hands.

It has secret Bet works pretty much the same as UBT's except similar to new UB/AP version you can not do a secret action(But with no surrender in game that’s no big problem see things I don't like!)

Software is graphically superb easy to read bets, Counters etc looks very similar to an updated version of clububt's interface but with characters as players etc.

DD cards are hidden(when you can DD see dislikes!)

    The bits I Don't like:

At the moment it's European Blackjack at it's worst, DD only on 10,11 (not sure about 9) in a tournament really takes tons of skill opportunities away.

It gets worse no DD after splits regardless of card value's.

    No Surrender.

    No DD for less

    No Insurance for less

You Can’t split 10 value cards

I don't think they have properly thought about the elimination hands position, In the games i have played player 4 usually gets the button 1st time and 2nd time if no other players fall out in-between.

There is no Chat!!!! Been playing alongside friend and fellow BJT member Zweeky today and can't say hello how rude is that lol - So hi Zweeky gg BTW!!!

At the moment lack of players the Mtt's don't seem to make min levels and sng's only $5 seem to launch regularly(but see notes below) with exception of freerolls which of course fill!

and of course only U.S previously registered and funded players can play

Have spoken to their support to see what else is forth coming with this they say there will be applying the tournaments to different versions of blackjack so a lot of my negatives points may vanish in coming months.

They have also said it's on a soft launch at moment have not pushed it at players as they want to see its integrated ok, They will be offering bonuses and sending out invites etc in coming weeks which I assume will happen across all microgaming casinos.

My Verdict if they bring in U.S version of BJ as they say they will(they have around 30 versions in their main casino so nothing to scary to regulars) hopefully add chat and get players then this will certainly be one of the better tournament games out there.

My other choices AP/UB still trying to get use to this awful rebuild they have created from what is still my favorite the original UBT format as still used on clububt. But graphics aside does still have most of the skill aspects that made UBT a fun and skilled online game.

ClubUBT love the software but just too many crazy players and too long tournaments for anyone who looks at it as a way of earning income. Still Great value for anyone who wants to play low risk with possibilities of good prizes.

Gameaccount/CasinoRip etc - nice software, UK Licensed/Audited and based but only heads up play with no secrets or surrenders, But Multiplayer games are coming soon and that's an exclusive

Blackjack21 have not played on enough to pass judgment but does seem to offer a good variety of games and have good options.

Yes, you can DD on 9.

    gg ;)

Their current freerolls occurs about 5 times a day and accepts 250 players for a $50 pot. Registration opens 1 hour before start and it becomes full in less than 5 minutes!

In general, I see it as very good news that a major company for online gaming has developed a new platform for BJT. I agree with most points mentionned by London Colin + bjmace and after reading bjmace's post, I am hopeful that some work can be done to improve many details. One thing that I think could help to get a few more tournaments to start would be the ability to open more than one table (I think two would be fine), which is currently not possible. You are able to register into 2 tournaments, but if they occur simultaneously you need to choose one of them, or switch back and forth via the lobby and miss a couple of hands.

If someone else want to have a little fun trying to win pennies at their freerolls, here is a hint: for the accumulation round, 3750 is enough to qualify most of the time and 3500 is rarely enough (max bet is 250).
