This is a new event at Caesars in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Might be worth considering if you're also playing https://www.blackjacktournaments.com/tournaments/2769/
Hey Gronbog, Hope all is well with you and the Mrs.. When I click o your link above it takes me to an MGM Detroit event? Is there a separate event for Windsor you were announcing? Take Care, Pill
I don't know anything more than I have posted. I just discovered these events yesterday on the casino's web site and haven't made any phone calls for more info. Here is the link to the event calendar entry for the tournament of champions: https://www.blackjacktournaments.com/tournaments/blackjack-tournament-of-champions.2768/
Yes, we're both doing very well, thanks! Yes, the link to the Windsor event is in the first post of this thread (the automated post). Click on 'Monthly Blackjack Tournaments'. I provided a link to the MGM Detroit event in the next post, since Detroit is just across the river from Windsor. I thought it might be worth considering playing both events. MGM Detroit is on the 2nd Friday of each month and Windsor is on the 2nd Saturday of each month.
Thanks for the head's up about the Windsor BJT, Gronbog. Didn't know about that one, will see if I can scrape up any info to post here. I've known about the MGM BJT but never posted about it because it is such a piece of crap. Possibly the worst b.s. carnival rules I've ever encountered. For example, one hand about 2/3 (maybe 3/4, don't remember fer sure) of the way thru each round pays 5x for a natural. That's not a misprint, it pays five times your bet. If that isn't bad enough, the first round is one-advance. So whoever gets the Willy Wonka Golden Ticket is a massive favorite to take the only advancing spot available. P.S. Anyone considering both of these BJT's need to be aware that there is an international border between them. Got your passport? Residents of a very few states, like Michigan, can get an "enhanced driver's license" which makes a passport unnecessary when traveling to/from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, or the Caribbean.
This event has disappeared from the casino's web site. Perhaps the turnout for the inaugural event was low? Does anyone know whether it is still running?
