Taping for the third season of the World Poker Tour begins with a tournament held this Thursday July 29 at the Mirage and will conclude at Bellagio in April 2005. Shows will begin to air in March 2005 on the Travel Channel. Visit WorldPokerTour.com for the complete Season Three schedule.
Although the first season of "American Casino" is still airing, Discovery Channel has already ordered another 18 episodes of the reality show based on the inner workings of Henderson's Green Valley Ranch. Fox will begin airing new episodes of "The Casino," which takes place at downtown's Golden Nugget's, on August 15.
Similarly, Caesars Palace has granted access to a major cable network for the creation of "CAESARS," a new reality series based on the legendary resort and casino. The debut date for this A&E Network series has not yet been determined.

    Celebrity Blackjack

I just wish GSN would include descriptions with all the listing that my Tivo gets so it wouldn't have to record the same episode 13 times.

    Vegas Challenge

The sad truth is, Mr. Standard Deviation is a *#@%!!%*#!! To give myself the best chance of catching up, I was betting 8 numbers straight up on that damn roulette wheel-- better than a one in 5 chance of hitting. I calculated that I only needed to hit 3 numbers in order to catch up (i went into the last round about 10,000 behind BR1), and one more to make up for the losses trying to catch those 3 (or just hit the 3 in under 15 spins). Then i could just coast out the rest of the time, because BR1 was on another game with a high house advantage (3-card poker). Sure, I'd have to get a LITTLE lucky, but I figured it was the best plan under the circumstances, taking only as much ROR (risk of ruin) as I had to take in order to reclaim first place. ;)

Well guess what? In FIFTY SPINS of that wheel, i only hit one of my 8 numbers ONCE!!! that's TEN TIMES WORSE than the average, and of course no amount of bet correlation/probability wagering is gonna matter when you just lose & lose & lose... To put it in perspective, the odds of having that horrible run at roulette are the same as flipping a coin & having it land 'tails' TWENTY TIMES IN A ROW.

    Un-#%*@-ing believable.
