    Open?

    Open to all or "invitational"?

They're advertising this for a $250 entry fee in the casino, so anyone should be able to get in. It appears that they have relaxed their policy on events here in recent months, opening them up more.

    Receptions

Are the receptions worthwhile? I realize there's a drawing, but is it worth the time or the hotel cost for the extra night?

Not really. For the $100K events, early registration has hors d'oeuvres substantial enough to reasonably be dinner. There is an early bird drawing for 5 $1000 promo chips. If 200 people early register, and the promo chips are valued at half, that's an EV of only $12.50 per person.

Nice enough, but not worth a lot of extra effort to arrive a night early. Definitely a no if you're paying for a room.
