An $8000 theo seems very low for a field of only 24 participants. The EV per player is over double that. I suspect this field will be quite a big larger than 24, but the possibility is quite interesting.
My host stated $8,000 theo is the minimum required to just be considered for a tournament invitation, those invited may actually have a much larger historical theoretical. The Cosmopolitan hosted a similar (500K) event with limited entries last year, a participant told me two other tournament players lost over $500,000 each in casino play.
