A "hybrid" type of Blackjack Tournament means it's a combination of different formats. In this particular case, rounds 1 and 2 are accumulation format - the highest 49 scores among all the players advance. Then the semi-finals are table elimination. Again, in this particular case, among the 7 players at a table, the top score at a table advances to the Final Table. In other words, your table would stand on it's own and what happens at the other Semi-Final tables has no bearing on your winning or losing.
Thanks Toolman! Thanks for the quick and understandable response. Appreciate it! I play alot of hands of blackjack, but I am new to the tournaments.
spoke to Harrah's yesterday; BUY IN $250,..NO REBUY;and final table pay out is guaranteed. Altho, that remains to be seen,..so to speak. If accurate, seems like a good deal,..no?
Has anyone gotten any info as far the rules for this tournament other than the format? I have a call into them, spoke to them yesterday and the guy did not seem to know much, he did say that rooms would be comped.
Record the the conversation and if they don't honor what you were told then contact gaming control. If you play any tournament where you were guaranteed (anything) and the casino doesn't live up to what their employee told you they can get in big trouble. Falls under fraud (deceptive trade practice). However in all my years of playing I have never seen a casino guarantee anything they didn't honor.
