    which is right

Instigator, you put 3 new events on the calendar for the same time, but all different. Which is right. Is it open or invitational, is there a buy-in and rebuys or is it free entry, Is it hybrid or some other format?

    Harrah's

Seeing it is at Harrah's, it wouldn't surprize me if the person helping instigator didn't tell him all the above...lol.
Here is the direct New Orleans Harrah's number 504-533-6000, you'll probally get better infomation there then from their 800-Harrahs central reservation number.

    No information given

I called the New Orleans Harrah's to find out the correct information about the tournament, but was informed that Harrah's doesn't give out their tournament information because they don't want other casinos to copy them...LOL. I guess they just want players to come play no questions asked.

  5. I got an e-mail today from Harrah's New Orleans telling me about this tournament. My communication said there was a $500 entry fee. As with many Harrah's events, there may be a sliding scale for entry fees based upon your level of play. The e-mail did not mention anything about it.

My mailed invitation states Complimentary Buy-in, 3 night complimentary room so your thoughts of a sliding scale entry fee appear correct. To answer DeltaDukes questions, the invitation did not address the format (hybrid or otherwise) but stated a $300 re-buy option is available during the 15th hand of each preliminary round (I presume you can re-buy chips in the amount of your starting chip total for $300 but who knows) with a wild card drawing prior to the semi finals. The prize fund Instigator posted is correct according to my mailing.

  7. What I was Told

They quoted me an expected attendance of 336 players. That is consistent with a 3 round tournament with 48 tables of 7 players. So, it looks to me like a table advance format with one advancing in each of the first two rounds with one wild card spot in the semis. That is fairly consistent with the way they have done these tournaments in the past.
