Rules at L'Auberge du Lac in Lake Charles

    Hi,

Im out of Houston and have been looking to check out this casino. What you say is intriguing. Correct me if I'm wrong....but if the double deck game is S17, DAS, No surrender, I'm getting house odds at roughly .20%. Adding RSA to the mix, doesn't that substantially increase the odds? I have not been able to find this option on wizard of odds or your basic strategy engine but some other sites (which I am not sure of their information) state RSA can add as much as .32% in favor of the player.

    Is this true?

Resplitting Aces is worth 0.053% for a player in two-deck, and 0.069% for six-deck.

Here's a more accurate estimate of the L'Auberge games:

    Two-deck, S17, DAS, RSA: 0.114% house edge
    Six-deck, S17, DAS, RSA: 0.309% house edge

(See http://www.bjmath.com/bjmath/conseq/rules.htm for how I arrived at those numbers.)

The Basic Strategy Engine's estimates are showing their age, and the whole thing is slated to be enhanced. I have a lot on my plate at the moment. :D

I just want to inform everyone to avoid this casino at all costs, sure it looks pretty but I'll never go again. I just recently went, and was screwed over... still pretty ticked about it. I walked in and checked out their table games, made sure the rules were too my liking (which they were, I play 6 deck shoe). Well I could tell the dealer probably just got out of dealer school. She misdealt a card to the guy at firstbase (he clearly signaled to stand), then she called over the pitboss. (Keep in mind, all the players have terrible hands. I believe I had a 15, and the players down the line had 16, 17 and A-7).

The only one that should've hit was the A-7, but that guy didn't really understand the game completely. I forgot exactly what the dealers upcard was, but I digress. The pitboss makes his way over to the table (looking very anal I might add), and says the misdealt card was the NEXT CARD IN PLAY (bullshit). Everyone saw the card which was a 7, the A-7 was the guy who didn't want it in the first place... of course noone else is gonna take it or they'll bust.

Since he says it's the next card in play the dealer takes it which gives her a 19 and beats everyone. Man I promise you if that instance worked out where it gave the player an advantage, that card would've been burned to the discard tray like it was SUPPOSED to be and WOULD'VE been at any other place that has a good blackjack game. I lost one of my bigger bets of the day, cause there was a pretty decent plus count. So me and another left the table with a few unpleasant words, I colored up, cashed in, threw my players card in the trash and left the joint. Hell if thats how they want to play, how bout we just turn all the cards over and pick the ones we want!

Maybe they thought they could get away with it cause its a new place, but I know guys that have played this game longer than I've been alive that have said they've never seen things handled like this. If you need a good blackjack game in Louisiana, do yourself a favor and head over to Harrah's.
