    I was going to wait until after the cruise, but we finalized the deal for one of the new TBJPA/TBT events.

    It will be the Iron Horse casino in Auburn, WA (just outside of Seattle).

    The TBJPA not only signed up for this September 27th - 30th, we also signed up for February & August 2008.

    I will still be posting about a couple of other new TBJPA/TBT locations for both this year and next after I get back from the Blackjack Cruise III (including the January Blackjack Cruise III).

    I am very excited to have the Iron Horse casino as one of the TBJPA host casino properties. I believe with all the tournament players in the state of Washington that this location will produce a lot of new tournament players nationally. Current players fron the Washington area are: Thrasht, Hemi-power, Marichal, Lehlay, & Re-Bob, all pretty damn good players already.

    tex;

    that is great news to hear that tbjpa is coming to seattle. would extend a welcome to other members of this site to make the journey to this area, and play in the tourney. having lived in nor-cal most of my life (ocean, redwoods, mountains, etc.), the seattle area is one of the most beauitful regions in the country. it should be great weather at that time period. auburn is around ten miles from sea-tac airport. kind of in a valley below interstate5. there is a days inn motel, right next to the iron horse, with several other motels a couple of blocks away. the iron horse is a non-smoking, no slot machine casino. it is not tribal run, but licensed by the state of wa. so, kind of different from the typical mega style of casino that most play.

    again, great to see this happen rick. really would be great to see the gang make the journey to seattle. i will assure all, you that just the beauty of seattle might be worth the trip itself.

    if anyone need info please pm myself, leliahay, mauiboy, or the other members that tex mentioned. we will be happy to help

    "team" ubt would be quite surprised at the quality of play if a few of them made the trip to seattle to play in the tourney. iron horse casino, will be sending up to 10 players to barona in nov. would not shock myself at all, if one, or more, are on the final table. we do not have the glitter, we just play tournament blackjack, all the time.

    Wasn't this the casino that had agreed to hold a UBT "major" but bailed out over a disagreement about contractual terms?

    Ubt

    I think it was Spirit Mountain Casino, Oregon that backed out of the UBT deal. Iron Horse wasn't the one. However, they will sponsor 1 to 10 players to the Barona November UBT. Hope to see some new faces at the Iron Horse, Auburn tournament.

    No limit set on the number of players...

    Since I have never played in Washington I don't want to say the number of players we may have for the September 26th - 30th, 2008 TBJPA / TBT events in Seattle (actually Auburn).

    However when I asked the manager if she thought 144 players would be to many she told me she would offer us 10 tables for the first part of the tournaments and if we could leave the number open in case more players would like to play.

    I do know that the players in Washington LOVE tournament play and they have at least one every night and sometimes two per day, so I am hoping for a nice turnout in September.

    No turning back now

    Everything is now finalised for Seattle.

    Neil Gagg and I will be flying out from Manchester on Monday 24th July 2007 and departing from Seattle on Tuesday 2nd October 2007.

    Arranging this trip was quite an accomplishment. Try asking your wife is it okay if you can travel over to the USA without her so that you can play in a blackjack tournament. Then when she finally agrees, you have to drop it in a few days later that the tournament is being held in Seattle, which just happens to be where her brother lives and we have arranged to stay with him…lol

    Because Neil Gagg and I work together we then had to dupe our manager in signing our leave sheets so that we could be off together for the trip.

    Well we did it.

    See you soon

    Andy :)

    Great

    Andy I'll be in a couple of days early myself. We need to get together for dinner sometime before the tournaments start.

    Looking forward to meeting both of y'all. Now we just need London Colin to come over and play and I think we will have had all the English players come over and play.

    Andy:

    Welcome to America: And live TBJ. Good Fortune to you and Neil.

    Homever, are you sure your BOSS can do without youse twos for two plus months. Any non professional in the States wouldn't have a job to go back to after taking a two plus months leave of absence.

    I could be wrong, but I don't think pregnancy leave is THAT long.

    Whatever the case enjoy and DO take a side jaunt to Sin City.

    Seattle Schedule

    Thanks to Rick and others on here for their kind invitations and information.

    Please don’t take offence if I do not commit to anything in the early part of the week.

    I also need to have some time with my American teenage nephew and niece who I have not seen for many years.

    My wife and sister in-laws over here have informed me in no uncertain words that they will be checking up on this (“don’t you dare spend all of the time in the casino you shit”) and if it does not happen, then I am not to bother coming home.

    Andy

    PS Just a thought. Are there any areas in the Iron Horse Casino where they can accommodate teenagers? ;)

    PPS I'm expecting Noman to be there...:)

    andy;

    please remeber, iron horse is not a "mega" casino. you have to be 21 or older to be in the casino. there is a small diner off to the left as you come into the door, that we have viewed minors eating. as far as that, it would be the only place for minors.

    take care;
