I am not going to go into all the details.  You should go 
to the web site and read it.  There are 4 qualifying 
tournaments on 7/17, 8/7, 8/28 and 9/18.  You get to play 
in the qualifying tournaments by playing at the casino on 
Wednesday's beginning 6/29 and getting a hot seat 
drawing.  It says 36 hot seats per each Wednesday.  The 
qualifying tournaments have 81K payable.  The final event 
has a little over 400K payable.

I did not play in the previous one they had, because I do not want to sit at a table and play for hours hoping that I would be one of the lucky hot seats.

There is a lot of money possible if you can stand to do the playing and pay the commission.

WinStar Split BJ Tournament

Apparently I played enough or bet (lost) enough to get a free entry into this tournament. I don't know how many freebies were mailed out, but the first 240 of these that sign up get in to one of the four satellite tournaments, i.e., 60 invite entries per satellite.

There will be an additional 36 hot seat winners per satellite tournament for a total 96 players per satellite. Simply stated, there are 240 invitational entries and 144 hot seat entries divided among four satellites. If you make the final 24 in a satellite, you're in the money and eligible for the "Main Event" tournament in October.

First place in a satellite is worth $25K and 24th place is $500. First place in the "Main Event" is worth $200K and 96th is $500.

You get only one shot at this whether you get in via an invitation or hot seat. If you're already entered and get a hot seat drawing, you get $500 but the tournament entry will be awarded to someone else. The entries are non-transferable. Per the rules "Patrons are not eligible to receive more than one (1) entry into the Split."

With Steve's post it appears they are only having 12 hotseats on each Wednesday to get to 36 total for the 3 Wednesdays in each qualifying period. Slim odds.

Congrats for getting an invite. You could get lucky and make money out of the casino.
