    I'll be There

I'll be at both, having the luxury of living a short drive away. Ken are you saying that you're coming too?

    Possible road blocks:
    • You must register in person for the Seneca event during the registration period (April 20 to May 3). Registration is also available on the day of the tournament, provided it is not full. I have played it a few times and it has never been full (although they fill it up with rebuys), but if you had to travel a long way, It would be disappointing if you couldn't get in
    • The Fallsview has traditionally required that you already be a PAC (Players Advantage Club) member before they will register you over the phone, although I seem to recall someone (maybe Ken?) saying that they've talked their way through that in the past.
Also in May in the North East in late April and May:
Both also require registration/qualification in person.

    Road trip anyone?

No, I won't be able to make these, though I did really enjoy my previous trips to the area.

It's a shame they make it tough on outsiders to register. I do remember that issue at Fallsview, and yes, I was somehow able to work around it at the time. I seem to recall someone in later years being unable to do so. If anyone is interested, search the old messages here for details.

That would have been me. They made it crystal clear that I could not enter the tournament unless I had a card, and registering online (as I did) did not count. While this is a very do-able trip for their tournaments for me, especially with the chance to play two in one trip, it is absolutely not worth the effort to make a special trip just to walk in and get a card. What a shame......

    A Nice Place to Visit

I understand your frustration. I've played a few events at The Meadows and was treated very well by a host there but even so, their hands seem to be tied when it comes to pre-qualifying me for their current 400k tournament series. The only option appears to be for me to make a separate trip there in order to achieve the required amount of play to qualify.

Having said that, such a trip could be worth my while, since I like the place and have enjoyed my time playing there in the past. The same could perhaps be said of Niagara Falls. The next time you're wondering what to do with a long weekend or a short vacation, it might be worth your while to spend it in Niagara Falls. There is a lot to do there aside from the casino so it's a viable destination in its own right. Once there you could pick up your players club membership at the Fallsview and the issue of registering for future tournaments would be solved.
