Sorry if this is in the wrong place-feel free to move it if need be. How do you claim your gambling losses from blackjack? And has anyone here done it or know how it's done... Really curious.. thank you. (do you need to claim winnings also at the same time to prove this?)
You can deduct losses, but only as an offset to winnings. You'll need documentation that includes a gambling diary. Search the IRS website for lots of info on this. I've also recently added a book on gambling and taxes to the BlackjackInfo store.
