    Man, I really have not been looking at the calendar. I wish I would've known about this tournament. I woul'dve save up for it. This is one of the greatest tournaments I have ever seen anywhere. I've been here and was talking to a co-worker about this casino/resort today. It is really a nice atmospher down there. Check it out and look at the place value. I mean, you're litterly getting your money back if you finish within 98th place. This is so sweet.

    Whenever I log onto this site the first thing I do is check the "Recent (calender) Event Updates". This normally gives me plenty of time to plan on going to a tournament that fits my wants and/or schedule. And early awareness also saves on airline fares :D .

    Pechganga

    I played yesterday and have to give the tournament a thumbs up. I will choose to ignore the dealers having their typical problems with button placement and throwing cards to the wrong players off the Dealer Button;) I will also choose to ignore the Hybrid Wild Card accumulation thing that was frustrating and confusing. Also ignore the Hybrid scoring system that decided if you won 500 or 2000. Lets jump to the positives;;;

    This event was an invite/open tournament. Pechanga invited not only BJ players but slot, baccarat, poker and whomever else. This filled the event mid way thru the 4th qualifying heat, out of 7 total, for what I estimate at 700 players on 30ish tourney tables. Just by talking and watching I think the event was a smashing success for Pechanga as a business venture but most importantly for gaining exposure to our game. I would guess we gained over 300 potential players from this event alone. The managers seemed ecstatic. The rebuy program was bringing in loads of cash. The customers were happy and having fun. The high limit room was cranking. Word is Pechanga will be holding more of these events. Like the manager said, this was the biggest BJT prize pool California had ever offered and look for it to get bigger. Keep your eye on Pechanga not only for BJT but Baccarat and poker tournaments. I was always a little jealous of Tunica events, I may have found my local outlet.

    Well, that part's not true, but it does sound like a very promising development.

    Has there been a BJT with a higher prize pool, 300K, in Ca before? Of course knowing UBT has a planned EBJ event that should take place in November with a million to winner.........................
