FWIW, I read the Brochure that has info on the canceled $1,000,000 tournament. Important info reads clearly <Management reserves the right to cancel or alter this promotion at any time.>
it already happened doesn't give them the right to retroactively cancel the payouts to the winners - if I put on a promotion and promise you a prize - and you win - I can't go back and 'cancel' your prize after the fact! - they owe the qualifiers $2,500.
The free entry into the 1,000,000 game was a promotion and I dont see it had any cash value. The management clearly stated they have the right to cancel or alter the promotion at any time. With no cash value the the free pass to the final set of games is worthless. I dont think even the resurrection of Johnny Cochran can get anyone green backs for this. Maybe a complaint will earn a couple of week nights on the house at best. B
Too bad the other states are not like Mississippi, a promotion or event can not be changed or canceled without gaming commision written approval (a minimum of 2 weeks before to the event). Once started it can not be changed or canceled. The Isle of Capri in Lula near Tunica had a monthly $20 poker tourney and besides the 1st place money the winner got to play the manager head up for $5,000. I won and the day before I was to play Dale Carden he was fired, I showed up to play, was told it was canceled due to Dale leaving, got on the phone and had the gaming commission there in 30 minutes. They ruled the game had to go on and Dale's hand would be blinded out until that hand was out of chips or they could just pay me. They chose to just pay me. At least our gaming commission does not rule in the casino favor all the time like in Vegas and other places.
