I need to know what will work best for those wishing to go on a cruise next year? If the summer months is when ya'll want to go we need to start booking now. Please anwser the following poll:
Summer Cruise Months From a personal standpoint, I would prefer either the first half of June, the second half of July or any time during the last 3 weeks of August and thus, I cast my opinion on all but the months. Which cruise lines are you considering? When do you anticipate having a date/cruise selected by? Chips
Cruise dates Being from Earthquake California and not Hurricane country, both Galveston, TX and Miami, FL would not be my choice if the cruise is scheduled during hurricane season. After the hurricane devastation this year my unofficial vote is the earlier the better but will do more research and then cast my official vote in your poll. After all the great reviews of this years cruise I definately plan to be aboard in 2006.
June 25th thru August 10 is the WSOP. Make it after that as many of us will be busy with satilites before June 25th.
School? I think we have to go in early August if we choose that month due to school. I know that stopped several players from getting to go on this passed cruise, having their kids in school. Where ever we decide will have to be pretty soon or they will be sold out. Most balconys are already gone for the cruises I have been looking at. I agree about the hurricanes Rookie, but it was suggested to do the Caribbean this time, but besure to buy the travel insurance...LOL. I also found other port options out of Florida: Orlando, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville. Whichever have the best deal is the one we will use. I think if we can get a June cruise ready in time that might fit the best for everyone and hopefully get done before the hurricanes hit. I will start shopping this week, just waiting to see what the poll results will be.
Early poll results are: Going by the poll it looks like most want a July cruise for 5 nights with 3 tournaments (+ sit and go events) leaving from Florida. I found a 5 night Bahamas cruise with 2 sea days (great for tournament days) leaving July 15th out of Jacksonville, Florida. I have been wanting to go checkout the Atlantis casino and this trip will give us a full day there. This sounds like our best bet for this month. I will talk to my travel agent (Jim Thomas) so he can arrange the package for us. My goal for this cruise will be about 50 players (almost double our first cruise turnout). however I will have Jim block about 90 cabins just in case. *Please Note: All players must book through Jim or the cruise line will not allow you to play in the tournaments. The same thing happened on this passed cruise.
Possible GREAT news! Carnival has just lowered their prices for the August 12th, 2006 Bahamas cruise from Jacksonville, FL. Inside for $330 per person + taxes and Oceanview for $390 per person + Taxes. Why possible great news? I need to make sure we have a location on board where we can hold the tournaments. If this date works out there will be limited time in which to get in our deposits ($200 per person), but this is about half what I have been looking at. Other good news, Global-Player is willing to host satellite tournaments where players can win their cruise once we lock down a cruise date. I will post a poll about what day and time everybody would like to play these satellites.
Great News...take a chance You do a great job putting these tournaments together and after being on the first one, I am forced into making a decision today on securing vacation time for my wife so I am having here request the week of August 12th hoping that is where the next one is scheduled. Bonus for us is that my parents live in Jacksonville, so hope to see you all on the second blackjack cruise! I have a good picture of you and me on the last day in the casino that my wife took, I will try to get it to you...
Just waiting to hear from Carnival Hold just a day or two Bill until I hear from Carnival. This is a smaller ship then the last one. I need to make sure we have a location for the tournaments, (this ship has no conference room). Once they confirm we can hold them on the "Celebration" I will post it here. I don't want you to lock up that date and we have to change.
Hey Tex: Competition???? Check out PartyPoker's Blackjack World Series for $250,000 on their cruise packages for BJ players.:joker: :joker: :joker:
It took me a few clicks to find the right spot for information on this. Here's the link: http://www.partypoker.com/news/partypoker_million/bjcruise_home1.html If you don't already have an account at PartyPoker, use this code to get 20% extra on your first deposit, up to $100: Bonus Code: BJT100 Basically, it looks like the cruise and tournament will be awarded to the 100 players who have wagered the most at blackjack between now and Dec 22nd. The leaderboard will only be updated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I guess we'll have to wait until Monday to see how ridiculous the action would have to be to get the cruise.
No competition for me I'm glad others are copying my ideas. I enjoy playing in tournaments, however with more and more casinos getting away from blackjack tournaments it is getting harder to do. That is the reason I started Texas Tournaments several years ago. I wanted to try and show the casinos that the players will come play in tournaments if they are treated fairly and you offer them good rules. I hope more places start copying me so we can all have more places to play. it won't hurt my feeling's.
June gets my vote after reading about the last cruise, my wife (Mo) and I would enjoy a blackjack cruise. Don't know if we can get the time off at the right time but June would be our best shot. Also, far away from hurricane season. I"m retiring in 383 days and Mo in 707 days (but who's counting) then just about anytime is good Randy
