We are back in town from vacation and are ready to host Fridays Tournament in Jacksonville on the 18th. I hope y'all are having a blast on the boat. If you plan on attending Friday's tourney, give me a call or email for directions. jgfla@comcast.net or 904-571-2227 Plan is to play two tournaments starting the first game at 6pm. Tex will review the terms and will be officiating. Rules will follow the Association rules as allows. Headcount is 35 to 40 people so far, so the prize pool w/ rebuys will be worthwhile. Considering 75% of the people have never played BJ Tournaments before (drool) and alcohol will be served (more drool), the expectation is for a fun, friendly, and educating game. I dont expect any Hollywood/Hauss attititudes since there wont be any camera's to act a fool infront of:laugh: Also, all yellow jackets must be checked at the door, but Black hats and short mini skirts are permitted. My wife and I are providing snacks, refreshments, & platters including BBQ and a Keg of beer on Ice. No formal dinner party - but you wont go hungry and you wont have to eat Tx's Hat to absorb the beer in your stomach. If you have a particular preference in your consumptions, then please bring it along. Should anyone get bored, or need a poker fix, there is a low stakes, state run, poker room and dog track just 5 minutes from my house. Lets have a great time! Give me a call Stacks (John) "You got to be in it - to win it"

Jacksonville Friday Night Tournaments Thank You everyone who came up, down, across the country, and from across town to play Friday night. The tournaments were a blast and we all had a great time! Over 30 people attended, and we ran two tournaments and several $100 sit N go's. There was a clear dividing line on who had tournament experience and who didnt ( 50/50 mix), but it didnt matter in the results - rookies won each of the tournaments. Each prize pool was over $700. Experience came through for Drbass as he cleaned up the last sit N go for a nice cash payout at the end of the night. Thrasht, Honeybee, Tx, and several other players from the cruise played great games and won pieces of the pots. Special thanks to Tx for administering a great night of play and for organizing a great group of dealers. Thank you also SWOG and Thrasht for helping set up, breakdown, and for putting a good dent in the keg Stacks
Oh yes....the keg........After "most" of the dealing was finished....I for one, along with some company, was willing to attempt to "float" the keg.....it brought back some memories from the old Frat. days in College....It always seemed to be almost empty for a really long time....or is it just that I'm not twenty any more????? Stacks......that was a wonderful BJ party......everyone had a blast.........Thanks for the hospitality ......
Floating Dead Kegs Believe me.... we arent 24 anymore SWOG, but Its Ironic that you thought the Keg was almost finished also. Infact, you had two of the girls convinced that the keg was empty, and one of them thinks that you or Thrasht switched the Keg on them... LOL. She told me, "I SWEAR THE KEG WAS EMPTY JUST 2 MINUTES AGO. IT WAS FLOATING AND NOTHING CAME OUT WHEN I TRIED TO POUR. MAYBE THAT GUY SWITCHED IT WITH A HALF FULL ONE?" ... she wasnt kidding Maybe things are less buoyant in Florida vs TX or WA, but that keg wasnt floating and it took 7 of us drinking hard the next day on the beach and through the Sat. night football games to finish it. SWOG, no matter what TX says about you, Your a great guy and your welcome to come to FL to stay w/ us anytime. Infact, you can deal when we get a game going, just so everyone feels like one game took twice as long. What value..... playing two in one. LOL just kidding brother - I know you did GREAT dealing, and I look forward to next time.
Awesome Party Stacks Stormy and I had a blast at your BJ tournament party Stacks. You and Jenny (sp) are excellent hosts. I was pleased when you both made the final table in the first tournament and it was exciting when you won (hopefully it paid for some of the food and Booze). Maybe if I host a tournament I can win one. lol. Thanks also to the Ricks for driving down all the tables and equipment from Texas. Off topic- It should be noted that Stacks, Jenny and myself have climbed some of the same multi-pitch routes at Smith Rock climbing area near Bend, Oregon. Just not together. Maybe we'll meet up there some day in the future. Thanks again, thrasht
Thanks Stacks for a great party Honeybee and I had a great time at your party, Stacks. Thanks for your hospitality and for introducing us to your cordial friends. Your home was a perfect spot for the get together and everyone there seemed to enjoy the tournament, party and company (even those who weren't lucky with the cards). Looking forward to seeing you and Jennifer down the line at a future party or tournament.
