The latest story floating around about the WSOB is that unlike in the pass two seasons all the prize money will be paid after each show.

No waiting till after the shows have been shown to get paid. The rumor is each player will receive their winnings in Las Vegas Hilton gaming chips before leaving the table.

Wonder if splits or chops will be allowed this year show between the players. Would have been nice last year, I could have handled $77,500 each in the finals.

    Another rumor is...

Each table winner will receive $25,000 for each table they win until the finals.

Damn I won my tables for $10,000 each (total $20,000) last year.

That will mean 8 first round winners will receive $25,000 each and then get a shot at another $25,000 in the semifinals and a chance to move on for the $500,000 1st prize.

$550,000 possible for the over all winner!

It isn't a million, but what the hell if they invite me I guess i'll go...LOL.

For those that get the invite you'll have a BLAST and for those who don't you should still drop by the filming if your in Las Vegas, the set last year was really nice and I expect no less this year.

Getting to watch all the shows "LIVE" and all the behind the sence action is really fun.

On last years show when they were filming Joep's game you should have heard the moans from the green room when the dealer turn over that 8 for 21. They probally heard us all the way to the casino.

There were other bad beats as well and if you come by the set you'll get a chance to see them all live this year. I'll try to get out there just to watch, (if I am not selected) it is that much fun.

    Who can watch

How does that square with blackjackmusician's description on your thread,Getting paid at the WSOB 2006?

The implication is the general public is excluded.
Why an open casting call for spectators...what do they get, front row seats or what?

    Last year...

For last years show they had plenty of extras in the stands, but several players and guest were allowed to come in and watch. I am assuming it will be pretty much the same this year.

"IF" you can get in you'll enjoy watching the show live.

    Very nice increase in prices

In my above post I wasn't bitching about my winnings last year, I was just comparing what I got to how much WSOB is giving away this year.

As far as I know GSN's WSOB is the only tournament that not only raised their prize money every year, but actually doubled their prize money every year.

    Year one = $250,000

    Year two = $500,000

    This year = $1,000,000

I was able to change some plans and now I'm flying into Vegas on Friday afternoon 3/3 so I'll be able to catch the show now. :D

    Sorry Joep

Didn't mean to bring back bad memories, just use that as one of the big moments from last years show, perfect bet great split and you were sitting pretty. I still don't understand why Hollywood hit, but that cost you? That was the worst bad beat of all the shows.

We all thought you had come back at the end, but Deanna slammed the door shut on you with that 8!

    Sorry Joe,
That was the worst beat ever.
We all need to remember that one and the dollar amount involved when we start to whine about a loss. Great bet...great play...bad loss
