This week, the tournament world lost a dear friend. Phil Bach, of Creed, Colorado, was well-known by many players, and loved by all who he encountered. Phil had a kind word for everyone he met, and his charm was unparalleled. I had the distinct pleasure of dining with him on many occasions, and his enthusiasm for life was a real inspiration. On Tuesday July 24th, he passed away after a lengthy illness. His wry smile and the bright twinkle in his eye will live long in my memory, but his presence will be sorely missed.
Wow.... Sorry about this loss Ken Smith. This must be heartfelt. He's in a better place now. God bless his soul.
You'll be missed I agree with Ken, Phil was one of the best gentlemen you could ever meet. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
dear, elder FREIND We lost our generous, kind, sympathetic and wise friend. Once he gave me the lesson I'll never forget: He invited me to join his company at the limo (instead of taking taxi to Henderson from Vegas). When we arrived I was trying to tip the driver as usually when we get something comped in Casino. He seemed to be really insulted, of course refused my offer, tip the driver ($100) and said the phrase I'll never forget: "YOU ARE MY GUEST". We will miss you, dear friend. God bless your soul.
