I remember Marvin well from the Stardust tournaments of many years ago. He was always a tough competitor.

Marvin was indeed a strong player. I met him back in the 90s, when we were playing 3 or 4 $10k events every week.

Later I learned a lot more about his interesting history. From the world of banking, to owning a casino in Haiti (until the regime changed and it was nationalized!), to inventing a successful casino side bet, he lived an interesting and full life.

I worked with him, doing the math for his side bet Streak for submission to the various gaming authorities. I will miss his wry wit, and his astute understanding of things.

But I’ll always have fond memories of our antics on the player side of the tables.

    Rest In Peace, Marvin.
